A dream about my ex boyfriend protecting me in my dream...

I had a really weird dream about my ex boyfriend. In this dream, it seemed like we were still together. He was protecting me from something or someone, I can’t quite remember what. I think someone was trying to kill us or something. I also remember hiding with him while he protected me. Then there’s this one part that really confuses me. He was outside, and I was the on the other side of the window. He was looking in at me, and I was standing there looking back at him. That’s all I can remember now. What does this mean?? I have a new boyfriend in real life, and I’m still afraid of getting hurt again. Could that be it?? Any interpretation would be appreciated! Thanks!
