Default Blind child and a turbulent ocean

Hello, I hope someone helps me interpret this dream.

I dreamt that I was with a blind child. In the dream I was her caretaker, a nanny perhaps. She was about 7-10 years old, with straight blonde hair to her shoulders wearing a pink long-sleeved long pink dress with a white collar. I was holding her hand and we were walking. Perhaps we were on vacation. The sky was cloudy. We come up to an ocean and the waves were turbulent. There is no beach but I could see people. We walk towards the people and I see a small stretch of sand where the people are sitting. The sand is the color of concrete. We walk towards the sand and I can tell in the dream that the blind girl wanted to swim. The people tell me that the water is cold. I walk on the sand to touch the water (it wasn't a beach so the water was very deep), and next thing I know I am in the ocean swallowing a bunch of water. I swim to the surface and look towards the sand and see the girl too is in the water. In the dream I know she is blind and as such will not way which direction is land. The next part of the dream I am in bed (injured??) and the girl is by my bed. I touch her hair and she tells me that she is ok. I guess I was making too much noise because my family woke me up from sleep asking if I was ok.

Many thanks!

Lou

PS: I forgot to mention that I am a 26 yr old female living in Virginia USA

Default blind girl .....

hi there, when i read your dream I thought that perhaps the blind girl is you? the fact that she cannot see could be that she is "blind" to her emotions ? Water in a dream signifies our emotions, in this dream the ocean you see is turbulent and when entering the water you injure yourself. The colour pink to me equates with love, the girl is wearing a white and pink dress, the colour of love and purity. Could this be your inner child that you are dreaming about and she is needing help with some buried emotions that she is in fact scared of. You mention the sand is the colour of concrete. So its grey, not the colour you would expect sand to be which is yellow? Grey is a non colour really, it would absorb the other colours.

I have dreams about water and always pay close attention to them as i realise water is our emotions. When you found yourself back in your bed which part of you was injured from the water in your dream ? Did the girl in your dream need to swim or did she find her way through the waves without appearing to try ? The connection between the girl and you is a strong one. Are there emotions just now that you are trying to run away from? Did something happen in your life that was painful when you were younger? Do you need to look at healing the inner child ?

take care
Onecalledk

Hi,
To be with an immatured girl means some blessing and a family happiness is on the way.
Ocean means the government or a big organization.
Swimming means working.Going deep into water means receiving some power from the big boss.
Drinking sea water means receiving some money and science from the big boss.

Thank you for your responses. Onecalledk in my dream the girl was able to swim. She seemed not to have a problem and was calm and composed through out. I think she got out of the ocean by herself. In the dream I did not get her out and no one helped her either. My main concern was that she wouldn't be able to know which direction is land because she is blind but she seemed to make it out ok. Also, in the dream while I was in bed, I don't know exactly where I was injure or if I was injured. I think I may have been just tired from the ordeal.

I am going through family problems and maybe that is why my dreams are troubled? I also feel that in some ways I am losing the person that I was, a lot of my good qualities are fading in the midst of all the family drama. I've been thinking about that the past couple of days so I don't know if that came through in my dream.

Thanks again!

Lou

Hi

Well the most important feature of this dream is the protection of the child. A dream may show you "exercising" certain parts of your personality. Say the caring and protective nature of yourself. Sometimes we haqve loyts of energy and wish to pursue some aspect of ourselves. In such circumstances we may dream about it.

But like all dreams they are very abstract. Its often difficult to interpret the dreams of others. Its impossible to see what has triggered someone elses dream. With yourself you are more likely to undestand your current state of mind and the things that can cause and trigger dreams

Think about the day before .. what was preoccupying you./ How has your mind focused ? Are you thinking more about yesetrday and things that have just happeend or is your mind more focused on the day to come and new challenges.

hope that helps

------------------------
Dreams are not so much a record of events they are more a record of our feelings. The rational waking mind may describe an event that happened the day before in this way "I was talking with my friend yesterday and he was talking a lot about work". The dream mind is less interested in events and more about feelings. The intuitive mind looks at the same incident and thinks "I was with my friend yesterday and he was acting strangely. Normally he talks about our friendship but he seemed to be talking a lot more about work".

A dream does not really record reality in any systematic fashion. It is merely describing events by pointing to emotions. A dream may simply be a collection of feelings. Such as "I was doing housework and felt tired", "I was talking to my brother who always confuses me" and "I was in a tornament aiming a crossbow at a target". So when a dream contains a series of unrelated events and feelings it maybe refering to something that you have recently felt. Together these symbols build up a conceptual set of feelings about something happening in your life. So this dreamn was maybe refering to the previous day when "I felt tired and became steadily more confused trying to figure out how to complete my task. I decided to set myself little targets. It helped me conquer my own brain fatique".
