Question Collapsed Ceiling...

Hey guys. I had a series of dreams last night but the one that stuck with me is that I was sitting in my living room (which was my actual living room but arranged differently) and was sitting on the couch with my daughter when I happened to look up at the ceiling. There were other people in my house and I kept staring at the ceiling and saying to myself something seemed wrong. As I go to stand up, I realize that the ceiling is about to cave in and then I go to grab my daughter but it is too late. The ceiling comes crashing down on us. The irony is that we weren't hurt. Just seems as though we were now dusty and had white residue all over us and in our hair and I went to complain to everyone about how the ceiling was never fixed properly and look at us. (this is all I really remember of the dream)

I tried to look up ceiling to see if I can gather an understanding but haven't really found anything pertinent. Any thoughts?

Hi,
Looking at the ceiling is bad for you!
In reality if sleep on your back too long your breathing becomes difficult and the subconscious creates a dream to either turn you over or wake you up. In sleep you often actually make the move the dream suggests. In this dream, asthe ceiling fell down, you would have moved in your sleep and turned over. That is the reason you slept on for some time - a bit dusty but otherwise unhurt.
In sleep, dreams look after you and make you do things that help you to sleep longer, or wake you up, as well as entertain you.
If you are looking for a meaning you can only get what this or that person imagines it might mean. The real understanding comes from watching people sleep and dream and see the movements they make.
Cheers Wolfjk

Hi,
If a house or coiling collapsed on you means you will receive a big deal of money.
Dust means money also but if chalk means a quarrel.
Ceiling also means your partner or bf, who may come back from a travel.

well often its difficult to tell which symbol is important. Maybe ceilings were not really the crucial symbol here as the most imprtant feature seems to be you protecting your daughter. Do you feel like you overprotect her at times? Or have you been overcautiuous . Or do you tend to think of the worst but in the end those worries turn to nothing. Maybe the dream is about your realisation of that. It could quite easily mean something else though

------------------
One way of telling how vital dreams are is to study people who are deprived of sleep and dreams.Sleep deprivation is very dangerous if it continues for extended periods. If you are deprived of sleep for several days then you will slip into madness. The reason for this is that sleep and dreams are linked to vital brain functions.

During the day we store up new thoughts and experiences within short term memory blocks. So if we are deprived sleep these become overloaded. The mind has no more space to store new feelings so these are merely forgotten.

During sleep vital brain waves emerge. Beta waves and theta waves are only ever detected within the brain at night. These help us process through those new feelings and experiences stored in short term memory. We integrate these new feelings into long term memory blocks. So if you do not sleep then you will not be updating your thoughts. You will not be building a bigger picture.

Default Thanks unclesirbobbyrobson.....

I happened to be looking for something and noted your response on this one and realized that you could be right. at that particular time there was a lot going on with my daughter and her school and be defending her and protecting her because of misunderstandings and things of that nature. That is why in some dreams, there is no symbol to be found (as Varzandeh has taught me) and instead it could directly relate to something. Thanks because it is helping me to obtain a better understanding of my dreams.
