Default Demon in dream, recurring, please help!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have calmed down now, but this dream scares me so badly that I cannot breathe and I wake up screaming and crying.

I started seeing this demon in my dreams about a year ago. It would appear in different "seemingly normal" dreams. It didn't happen often, but when this thing appeared, I would feel it's presense before I would see it. It scares me so badly that I can't seem to shake it when I am awake. I haven't seen it in about a year, then earlier tonight it came back. This dream just goes on and on and on. The dream is never the same, but the demon is. I don't know how to explain it. It is not a possession dream. It doesn't do anything specific, it's just there. It stands there and tonight it spoke to me. I couldn't tell you what it said, because it wasn't in English. It was a very old language. Another thing is....I am usually alone with this demon. Tonight, I wasn't. My husband was there. If anyone comes into contact with this demon, it enrages them. It makes me feel like I am safe from no one and no where, and I am the only one who sees it. It appears in my house (in my dreams) always in familiar places.

My husband wonders if it has anything to do with me taking Ambien CR. I don't take it often, but he says it happened before when I was taking it for insomnia. There have been 100 times I have taken it and never saw this thing. I am not a religious person. I have not been talking to anyone about demons or anything of that nature and I have nothing big going on it my life. I am not being abused or anything like that. My life is super normal. I am scared that I will start dreaming about this more often again. Last time it debilitated me so badly that I couldn't sleep for days and when I did, I couldn't go into my room alone. I know this sounds silly, but it scares me that badly.

Please! I am open to any suggestions, just help me make it stop!

dreaming about demons (at least when i do it) usually signifies a spiritual war somewhere around me, that involves me. you could be dreaming about the demon because you are at some sort of war with yourself, probably over the fact that you are taking ambien. are you comfortable with the medication, do you feel like you "shouldn't have to" take it, but do anyway? do you really want to take at all? is it a doctor's "order"?

since you have the dream usually when you are taking this medication, perhaps it has something to do with the medicine. perhaps this is your spirits way (everyone has a spirit, whether they believe or not, in my honest OPINION) of telling you the medicine is no good for you.

this dream can also signify some sort of spiritual battle going on around you between good and evil. the demon never touches you, but it is there. this could represent demons around you? i know in my own personal demon dreams, i am always safe because i have God on my side, and i am a believer in God. i noticed that your dreams don't have any protection, could this be from you not recognizing spirituality or religion? maybe subconciously you are afraid of the "unknown" and this appears in your dreams.

i am not trying to turn this into something about religion, but more about spirituality. hope this helps.

well here is a webpage I wrote on demons.

[http]http://www.unclesirbobby.org.uk/dreamessaydemon.php[/url]

Dreams can link to amlost everyday feelings... try seeing how they could relate to your bcurrent state of mind

------------------------
Many dreams are about your current frame of mind. In some ways they are about your fantasies. We dream about how cool we will be in such and such a situation. In our dreams and fantasies we are Spiderman. Yet dreams are also realistic and will contain cryptic messages showing how we are becoming unrealistic in our thoughts. We allow ourselves to get carried away with how things will improve. In truth we are merely motivating ourselves. If we achieve half of what we want in our dreams then we are doing well. If you have been lying awake in bed and thinking about the day to come then that fantasy may appear in your dreams. The connection may not be obvious but it’s definitely there.

Generally an upbeat dream is likely to be about the future and how we are trying to get ourselves into the right frame of mind to tackle the problems and sitations in our lives.

You say your life is supernormal? Why did you start taking sleeping pills? My guess is that you lead a hectic, exciting life and often go to bed overexcited or over tired. A stressful occupation can be the reason for not having good sleep.
Some drugs do effect the dreams. The reason is that they make the brain less sensitive to a normal waking dream and the subconscious has to introduce something scary in the dream to wake you up. I'm sure your scary dream will stop now you opened up and wrote about it. Even if you have it in the future you will know that the threatening figure is there only to wake you up!
Cheers Wolfjk

Dream interpretation taken from this book
http://www.freewebtown.com/godisking...nterpreted.pdf

For farmers to dream of the devil, denotes blasted crops and death
among stock, also family sickness. Sporting people should heed
this dream as a warning to be careful of their affairs, as they are
likely to venture beyond the laws of their State. For a preacher,
this dream is undeniable proof that he is over-zealous, and should
forebear worshiping God by tongue-lashing his neighbor.
To dream of the devil as being a large, imposingly dressed person,
wearing many sparkling jewels on his body and hands, trying to
persuade you to enter his abode, warns you that unscrupulous
persons are seeking your ruin by the most ingenious flattery. Young and innocent women, should seek the stronghold of friends after
this dream, and avoid strange attentions, especially from married men.
Women of low character, are likely to be robbed of jewels and money
by seeming strangers.
Beware of associating with the devil, even in dreams. He is always
the forerunner of despair. If you dream of being pursued by his majesty,
you will fall into snares set for you by enemies in the guise of friends.
To a lover, this denotes that he will be won away from his allegiance
by a wanton.

To dream of Satan, foretells that you will have some dangerous adventures,
and you will be forced to use strategy to keep up honorable appearances.

To dream that you kill him, foretells that you will desert wicked
or immoral companions to live upon a higher plane.

If he comes to you under the guise of literature, it should be heeded
as a warning against promiscuous friendships, and especially flatterers.

If he comes in the shape of wealth or power, you will fail to use
your influence for harmony, or the elevation of others.

If he takes the form of music, you are likely to go down before his wiles.

If in the form of a fair woman, you will probably crush every kindly
feeling you may have for the caresses of this moral monstrosity.

***To feel that you are trying to shield yourself from satan, denotes that you
will endeavor to throw off the bondage of selfish pleasure, and seek to give
others their best deserts.

I have used medicines before that have given me nightmares, such as Trazadone, but I take ambien every night now and I never have nightmares. It's probably not the medicine. Us humans dream of certain objects, places or things according to what's happening in our life in the future after the dream. I use the book Ten Thousand Dreams Interpreted every day, and all the interpretations come true! I'll give you an example. A few weeks ago, I had a dream in which I was speaking with someone on a telephone. The book says that dreaming of a telephone denotes strangers will harass and bewilder you in your affairs. Sure enough, as I was walking down a road, a person yelled expletives out their car window at me and a friend.

You said that you aren't religious, but in case you're interested, here are a few prayers related to the topic. They're not magic bullets, but you might want to consider praying them before you go sleep and see if they help.

Bedtime Protection Prayer

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of the name His Name, I subject my mind and my dreams only to the work of the Holy Spirit. I ask you Lord to bind up all powers of darkness and forbid them to work in my dreams or any part of my subconscious while I sleep. Amen.

Prayer To Saint Michael

Holy Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

To see demons in your dream, represents ignorance, negativity, distress or your shadow self. It also forewarns of overindulgence and letting lust give way to your better judgment. As a result, your physical and mental health may suffer.

To dream that you are possessed by demons, indicates ultimate helplessness.

Hope that helps!

Well yes if you are on drugs then drugs can have a major effect on dreams. Try not to worry too much. But I have also noticed that dreams can induce bad moods. Yet its difficult to know which comes first the chicken or the egg. Sometimes I think our mind can sense bad moods coming on and that the dreams merely reflect this. I have even at times felt that a bad dream like that was a portent for some bad mood or event. Try not to worry too much.

------------------------
When you get a dream think carefully about which direction you are currently looking. Are you looking back towards yesterday and something that happened and how you reacted. Or are you looking forward to the day to come. If you are looking forward then its likely the dream is about some thoughts or fears about the day to come.

Even if your life is pretty normal, you still might have deep fear of something- not necessarily of something physical, maybe something emotional. If you're having a nightmare this scary it seems like it's based on something real.
