Fearing a snorkeler?

I'm 19 years old, and I'm nowhere close to thinking about having children. But, I had this dream the other night involving me protecting children. The first scene was with me and this little girl from camp I worked at last summer, and she kept hugging me and holding my hand. I remember wanting to protect her and the other children around me from something, and I don't think it was ever explicit what IT was. Then I was on the deck of this house that was built in the middle of a swamp, and we were surrounded by swamp on all sides. So I was on the deck with another little girl holding my hand, and my mom standing next to me, and we were apprehensive about something. Then this snorkeler swims out from the tall grass and into the open swamp water, and we suddenly start feeling very fearful. My mother and I then decided to go inside with the little girl who I felt was perhaps my daughter.

I have no idea why we were afraid of the snorkeler. Any ideas, anyone? :-)
