Question Extremely Strange Dream - Any Ideas?

This morning I woke up to my alarm after having a very startling dream. I will try to put things in order as best I can remember them.

The setting was some place dark and unfamiliar. It was outdoors, like in a forest, and me and whoever else was in the dream (no one I recognized) were lost.

Two strange things I remember:

Having gotten my nipple and nose pierced with very large gauges and having a chain connecting them. I remember taking the nose one out and not wanting it anymore and seeing I was going to be left with a huge hole in my right nostril.

The next, most vivid part, was I remember someone in our group missing. I woke up from sleeping (in my dream) and remember my mouth being filled with dead skin layers stacked up upon each other. It was like the roof of my mouth had been peeling, but the layers were piling up instead of going away. I reached in my mouth and began pulling these layers of skin out... I remember how good it felt to get them out and being able to feel my teeth again with my tongue, as the backs were covered in this layer of skin as well. As I tore them out, I remember looking at them and they were slimy, semi-transparent, and they had leaves stuck in the layers. After tearing out the skin on the left side of my mouth, I did the same on the right side. These layers were also semi-transparent with leaves in them. I then began to throw up... but it was very slow.. I wasn't really heaving. I was just sitting there kind of with my throat clenched up and a stream of leaves covered in saliva started to come out of my mouth. I remember then being in front of a mirror watching these leaves come out of my mouth and me pulling them, throwing them in the sink. A voice told me to just stay like that until all the leaves were out. I also felt some sort of connection between the leaves I was vomiting and the person who was missing, but I'm not sure how that plays out. Just something I remember.. a connection being there.. a feeling.

The dream ended there. I know that's very confusing sounding, but has anyone had any type of similar dream or have any ideas what any of it could mean? Especially my mouth being full of dead skin and the vomiting leaves.

Thanks in advance,

Mitch

Later, I also remembered when I first had the skin in my mouth and feeling scared, I wanted to scream to people.. but I remembered, in my dream, that in most dreams I cannot scream.. so I clapped loudly to get everyone's attention. Just random how my own knowledge of dreams lead me to clap my hands in my dream instead of yell.

What an odd dream full of interesting symbols. I will give it a shot. Before giving you my take on the dream...I would like you to consider getting tested as to whether you have sleep apnea or not. I use to have a lot of dreams of a thick clay type substance in my mouth and pulling it out constantly. I was having sleep apnea from hypothyroidism and the dreams stopped after getting on the right medication. Just a thought you may want to consider (not the hypothyroidism but the sleep apnea).

That being said...and considering that you may not have apnea...here is my interpretation. Your dream includes most of your senses. The sense of sight.....smell (pierced nose)....taste (mouth)...hearing (clapping your hands)...touch (taking the leaves out and skin in your mouth). What is interesting is the piercing part of your dream. You had a chain connected to a nipple piercing and a nose piercing. You took the nose part out thinking you did not need it anymore. To me the breast area always represents the heart. So...you decided that was something you needed. I believe your dream indicates that you want a connection or relationship with someone who you have not seen in awhile or who you have had a falling out with. You said the leaves had some connection with the person that was lost. I believe this person possibly hurt you by either suffocating you or by not allowing you to speak openly. The mirror indicates a reflection on what the relationship did to you. Still...you care about this person and that is why you left the piercing in your nipple. You want to follow your heart in re-establishing this relationship/friendship...and although you were initially scared at the idea....you find that it may now be possible.

Default Bark-in-mouth?

Hi,
Imagine yourself sleeping on your back with your mouth open and hands clasped over your chest!
This dream is caused by your throat getting dry and at the same time your hands pressing on your chest. This sleeping position causes heavy breathing.
If you look at your dream carefully you will notice that the dream is trying to move your hand by making you take something out of your mouth.

Making you clap your achievement is perhaps the sense of sarcastic humour your subconscious plays on you! Bravo!! You managed to move your hands!!
It is difficult to explain how the subconscious makes you move in sleep. It is a very delicate operation and even the clever subconscious mind can't always get it right.
Cheers Wolfjk
