Beautiful For The First Time?

I have has a low self-esteem ever since... I can remember. I look down on myself.. Even though sometimes I remind myself I'm not that bad looking, I can't help but to stare at other women and compare myself to them... Then I feel very ugly.
I do not remember when, but one night I had a weird dream.. I dreamt that I was in front of a mirror, staring myself down. I looked very different from my real self; so beautiful. Then I stared complimenting myself..

What does it mean?
Am I like... crazy to think I am beautiful... What is wrong with me...? Sigh. I'm weird.

In your "intro" prior to the dream, your confusion is clearly stated - you confess to having low self esteem but then moments of realisation when you realise you don't look so bad.

So, the big question is: which opinion is going to win? Which opinion is going to help you? Which will hinder you? There is little point feeding thoughts and energy into feelings that will hinder you...

Anyway, here is a story. I don't know how old you are, but I am 31. I, too, suffered with low self esteem about many things, my physical appearance being one of them. So, one day, in absolute frustration, I stood in front of the mirror NAKED; and, rather than focus on all the things I didn't like, I focused on all the things I did like. There were surprisingly more things to like, than not. I was 27 before I did this. So much time wasted feeling terrible!
