I have been having the same dream over the past few months..after I got back together with my husband after separation of 9 months.
The dream has a large snake (I am very scared of snakes) the same snake in each dream. The snake has been an observer in some dreams and sometimes surrounding certain scenarios or fears of things I don't want to happen in my marriage. Last night, I woke up sobbing. The snake was there in the dream and trying it seemed to warn me of something or tell me something I needed to know. That is all I remember. I feel confused and boggled this morning. Is this my subconscious and my emotions getting the best of me or is this snake trying to tell me something? |

In this context I would say (especially as you say you are scared of snakes) that this snake is a perceived threat that is always there. It is very much around even though it is taking the role of a passive observer. You feel that this snake could strike and its venom and pain could be flowing through you again.
I would say it has to do with issues between you and your husband that led to the seperation and even though noones addressing them they are very much under the surface for you all the time and you are waiting for it to happen again. Your emotion is even coming out when you are asleep, you have a lot bottled inside. Have you had some therapy? or maybe talking to a good friend or someone you trust? Take care, life can be very hard. The snake telling you something I think is your subconcious asking you to acknowledge what you are feeling.
