Rats And Your Mother

I had a dream where i was in my house and i see three huge rats coming out from behind my couch and i became frozen in fear. then i see three small rats in the kitchen and i go looking for my mother to tell her what i have seen and she acts as if it is of nonimportance. what is this dream suppose to mean?

Rats usually symbolize enemies. Perhaps your mother doesn't care about your enemies, or is unable to see them.

In dreams, rats to me usually indicate obstacles (although I am strange and actually like rats). They are creatures that gnaw at things (gnaw at you), possibly carry diseases and are generally feared by most people. The fact that you saw three large rats then three small rats (or mice) indicates that the obstacles are getting smaller...or you are overcoming several situations. The couch is a place for rest and relaxation...the kitchen is a place for nourishment. These situations caused you a lot of anxiety and lack of sleep initially. Trying to tell your mother about it because it was important to you, and her acting as if it didn't matter, may indicate that your mother does not understand the accomplishments that you are achieving by overcoming these obstacles.
