Out-of-control Elevator

So, last night I had a dream that I was on the top floor of a large, dimly lit abandoned warehouse, possibly three stories high. A group of about 6 of us (not sure, but I think the 5 others were women) wanted to take the elevator down to the main floor to get out of the building.

The elevator was an open-style elevator with a steel cage-like structure around it. The door was one of those old-fashioned accordion-style types that you must pull toward the center to close (in other words, you could still see inside the elevator car when closed). Because it was open, you could watch the elevator go up and down freely (not a closed shaft like most normal elevators).

As the group began to get on the elevator, the fourth person got on, and I thought adding more weight would be a bad idea, so I said, "I'll wait for the next one," and me and one of the women waited instead.

The elevator descended really quickly, and slammed the bottom so hard it bounced. I don't remember hearing screams over the loud echoing boom, but immediately I said without panic, "I'll take the stairs." As I said that, though, the elevator came all the way back up, and hit the top just as fast and hard as it hit the bottom, and began to go up and down very quickly, slamming in each direction. At this point I could hear the people in the elevator screaming, as I knew they were probably dying from the repeated impact. At this point I woke up.

Some insight on your dream here from a biblical perspective. I believe this dream reflects a bit about you and your current circumstances. You saw the people getting on the elevator and sensed a danger and didn't proceed. The out-of-control elevator may simply represent what seemed like an easy solution to something that had disastrous consequences to it. God may simply be looking out for you here and not wanting you to take a path you are considering that will cause you harm or turmoil in the future. He's showing you to take the stairwell meaning you may need to work at it and wait a little longer, but more importantly as you wait on God's timing for it, He will "elevate" you and at just the right time and the right way. Seek and ask Him for help and He will be faithful to answer along the way ...hope this helps.

“Enter by the narrow gate (which is through Jesus); for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

I believe your dream indicates that you are aware that many people's lives around you are out of control and destructive. You make it clear that you want to avoid the same fate and you have made alternate plans to divert if not avoid these dangers altogether. Even though you are cautious about not getting involved in the same situations, you are still impacted emotionally by others that are suffering because they did not think things through. It is great that you are empathic, but please remember that you are not responsible for other people's choices. Just lead by example and hope that others see the dangers they are getting themselves into. May you have peace in mind, body and soul.

As going downstairs means not achieving a wish or losing some dignity.A descending elevator means a rapid losing dignity and not achieving a wish.
That you avoided that.
