need help with dream like experiance whilst awake!!

It all started last night when i was having a pretty normal dream where i was hosting a party at my house before suddenly switching to me and a few of my friends walking down a dark city street. The next thing I know we are being pursued by a gang of thugs and as i have taught myself to wake up from nightmares i managed to escape from the nightmare before it continued.
Laying on my bed quite exhausted from the experiance (real life now) i began to hear whispering from just outside of my room. From what i recall it was my mum and dad talking to each other which was slightly disturbing since they were asleep in the room along the hall! The conversation went something like this:

dad: who is [name i cant remember]?

mum: he/she is our child

i didnt get much chance to reflect on this before the end of my quilt was hoisted straight into the air and was being tugged violently around the room by something while i was clutching onto the other end !!

i desperatly tried to scream out for help but had lost complete power over my own voice! The whole thing has left me slightly unnerved since it was not a dream in the sense that i was awake throughout the whole thing, any thoughts would be much appreciated!

This is another version of sleep paralysis! You can dream that you're awake as well as that you're asleep!
In this dream you were lying on your back and probably had some breathing difficulties. Your dream is actually frightening you awake withthe idea that you can't move or can't scream.
You can be absolutely certain that you were fast asleep! It is your subconscious playing tricks on you!
