Default Performing an Exorcism

Hi,

This is my first post on this forum, but I've been reading and enjoying the many dream interpretations. Many thanks to all that participate in this forum. I'm hoping someone could help me with a dream that has me puzzled.

I had a dream this morning that I was in a room performing an exorcism on a man that I didn't know. He was laying on a bed and I was trying to get a demon to leave his body. He wasn't violent or threatening to me, but I knew I needed to get the demon out.

All I remember doing is repeating really strongly "Leave this body now!". There were others in the dream repeating this with me. In the beginning, this seemed to be working, but after what felt like a few hours, the words had little effect at all. At this point I remember either thinking or saying "I wonder why this isn't working anymore" and the man/demon said "Maybe it's because you gave me the pills, like, 2 years ago". This was a sarcastic statement from him.

At that point, I remembered that I had given the man some pills to help expel the demon and thought about giving him more. I also at that point realized that I had not used any religious efforts in trying to perform the exorcism. I wondered if the exorcism would have worked better had I used the name of God or some other religious tools or methods.

I awoke, but never exorcised the demon from the man.

If you have ever ingested or given anything that could have been mind altering...prescription or not, it would allow an aspect of you or the person administered to have created an altered state of consciousness. I often see that aspect of persona created during such an ordeal portrayed as a person or entity that lives within.
It you ingested such a substance the dream would be about you and if you had given such a substance to another person the dream would be showing guilt on your part for allowing the person to experience the altered state of mind.

Hi lovelydreamer

Characters in dreams tell us something about ourselves, men tend to reflect our thoughts, attitudes, behavior and beliefs, men represent our masculine stream of energy that manifests itself in the attributes described above. In your dream as the male is someone you dont know, it suggests that that this male is reference to some way of thinking or form of behaviour your not familiar with within yourself.

However it is a dream that portrays some attempt to change some form of behaviour or way of thinking 'demon' that isnt very palatable to you, and your energies, the clue to this attitudunal tendency is in the statement the man/demon makes which is of a sarcastic nature it may be that at some level and most likely at an unconscious level you use a form of sarcasm in your relations withothers as a form of defence and this is the 'demon' you are exorcising from your energies.

If the pills were used in a positive way in your dream then it is likely that they are reference to some therapeutic information/healing that you ingested some time ago which added to your motivation of overcoming ones personal demons, aspects of yourself that you carry within your masculine energies.

There is also a realization that there are spiritual tools one can turn to so as to aid and bring to light this pattern that you carry around, for when we bring our patterns of behaviour into the light theyre power is stripped they no longer have strength and symbolically they are exorcised from our beings.

Just a few avenues for you to explore they or may not have relevance to you. Best of luck

Blueberry

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the interpretations! I really appreciate the replies.

Blueberrysummer, I can relate to your interpretation and can apply it to a couple of different areas of my waking life. I will mull it over some more to see if I can pinpoint a specific message.

Thank you so much!

Smile dream interpretation

Here is your dream interpreted taken from the lovely and BEST dream interpretation book out there! i have been using it for years, and every dream prediction comes true..

Devil
For farmers to dream of the devil, denotes blasted crops and death
among stock, also family sickness. Sporting people should heed
this dream as a warning to be careful of their affairs, as they are
likely to venture beyond the laws of their State. For a preacher,
this dream is undeniable proof that he is over-zealous, and should
forebear worshiping God by tongue-lashing his neighbor.
To dream of the devil as being a large, imposingly dressed person,
wearing many sparkling jewels on his body and hands, trying to
persuade you to enter his abode, warns you that unscrupulous
persons are seeking your ruin by the most ingenious flattery.
Young and innocent women, should seek the stronghold of friends after
this dream, and avoid strange attentions, especially from married men.
Women of low character, are likely to be robbed of jewels and money
by seeming strangers.
Beware of associating with the devil, even in dreams. He is always
the forerunner of despair. If you dream of being pursued by his majesty,
you will fall into snares set for you by enemies in the guise of friends.
To a lover, this denotes that he will be won away from his allegiance
by a wanton.

Satan
To dream of Satan, foretells that you will have some dangerous adventures,
and you will be forced to use strategy to keep up honorable appearances.
To dream that you kill him, foretells that you will desert wicked
or immoral companions to live upon a higher plane.
If he comes to you under the guise of literature, it should be heeded
as a warning against promiscuous friendships, and especially flatterers.
If he comes in the shape of wealth or power, you will fail to use
your influence for harmony, or the elevation of others.
If he takes the form of music, you are likely to go down before his wiles.
If in the form of a fair woman, you will probably crush every kindly
feeling you may have for the caresses of this moral monstrosity.
To feel that you are trying to shield yourself from satan, denotes that you
will endeavor to throw off the bondage of selfish pleasure, and seek to give
others their best deserts.

To give pills to others, signifies that you will be criticised
for your disagreeableness.

To give medicine to others, denotes that you will work to injure
some one who trusted you. <-other possible interpretation for seeing pills and giving them to people

To dream you are using incantations, signifies unpleasantness between
husband and wife, or sweethearts. To hear others repeating them,
implies dissembling among your friends.

If you perform an exorcism then its a symbol for reqal life. You are maybe trying to expel badness within it. Perhaps trying not to form relationships which involve men acting in certain ways

------------------------
There is absolutely no way of truely knowing what a dream means. The dream language is not one that is easy to understand. There is no way to check if your interpretation is the correct one. There is no answer at the back of the book that is correct. Dreams do seem to link to recent events and in particular the day before. But they can also refer to premonitions and telepathy. Dreams then can work on many levels. Many people say that there are exxagerated claims about premonitions. It maybe true that a premonition can never be truely linked to some actual real life event. Yet it is also true that a conventional dream analyser can never truely say that a dream is linked to the dreamers own pyschology and recent thinking. All we can do is guess and hope that we have true understanding. Many dreams remain a mystery. We know that they may link to some event but their precise meaning seems often truely mysterious.

Hi LovelyDreamer,
As your name suggests, you have a high self esteem! Perhaps you go about thinking that you can work miracles and the world owes you alot of respect! However you also have a hang-up! In your private life you go against your public image!! This often causes pangs of consciese!
You also have a vivid imagination and a creative streak that your subconscious uses to for your dreams.
Cheers Wolfjk
