Default No clue; Dream about a big white bird

Greetings,,, new to this site or for that matter any dream site. I had an odd dream last night and would like to hear some interpretations on it please. Here we go... I dreamed I was on a couch that was positioned against a wall that had a ledge on it (similar to a window ledge). I don't recognize the room or any of the furniture it in. A large white bird, which I thought was an eagle, was on the ledge above me then moved down to the couch. It was as if the bird was toying with me. I remember the bird was biting my hands and pecking at me but not with the intention to hurt me but more like playing a game. I remember grabbing the bird by the beak a few times and toying around with it as well. Next thing I know the bird and I are eating trail mix of some sort. Here is the weird part. My mom appears in the room and I say something to her, but don't know what, and she says "that’s a Buzzard". Next, I remember grabbing the bird by the beak again and taking it outside and releasing it. The bird just flew off, very graceful like. I think that was the end of it.

Any ideas as to what that dream means? What does a large white bird symbolize? What is the significance of my mother telling me the bird is a buzzard when I thought it was an Eagle? Why the hell am I eating trail mix with the bird?

Thanks for the replies...

This dream interpretation could go several ways. Since I do not know your background I can only speculate as to how this will apply.

The couch and the wall in the context that you mention signify the fact that you are relaxing and thinking about some aspect of your life. The ledge represents the higher perspective that you are afforded via your subconscious mind (same as dreaming mind). You see, dreams allow for one to step back and view aspects of life that warrant comment or acknowledgment, with an objective overview (from better perspective) and without the distractions that are present while in conscious thought (which occurs during waking life).

Now that the architecture of the dream has told what the dreaming mind what it is up to...(giving the dreamer a better perspective of a situation he is dealing with in life), we need to look for the major message of the dream.
Again not knowing specifics about your life, I will only give an educated guess and you will have to overlay it to your life to see what applies.

It seems that you are in slow transition. You feel as if you are being very watchful and smart while you consider that which you need to accomplish (perhaps looking for a job...perhaps looking for your own place to live). So from your own perspective or point of view, you are patiently waiting for a "right opportunity" to do something. You see this as a smart way to proceed, HOWEVER, the dream tells you that the way that you see things is not exactly how others in your midst see the situation. The awareness given is, that you are more connected with a buzzard (which is a scavenger, or opportunist). Like an eagle, you are at or near the top of the food chain, BUT unlike the eagle, you are one that waits for opportunity rather than being the predator that goes out and creates his destiny.
I think that you see the inference.
The color white (the feathers that cover the bird) would likely show that you either suffer from a real life debilitating illness, OR, would indicate that the condition that you are in (being one who takes from others rather than creating his own way in life) is a "sick" way of life.

It is also possible that you are not yet a scavenger, but that you are "considering" or toying with the notion of just hanging it up and becoming a taker rather than one who aggressively approaches live, one who creates his own destiny.
In this case it is a dream that just shows that you are someone with a fantasy, someone who is just wishfully thinking...wouldn't it be nice to just sit around and let others do all of the work?
Your thoughts about what I have said are appreciated....

Hi,
If one dreamt an eagle landed in a place, it means a king or a governor will come to that place. If dreamt people killed that eagle, the governor or the king will die or will be put aside. If dreamt an eagle took him means the president or the governor will support him. If dreamt an eagle gave him something by its beak he will receive a gift from the government as much as it was worth. If dreamt eagle flew from his hand but its rope remained , the governor will get angry of him and will fine him or will push him away. If dreamt took an eagle or someone gave him an eagle and that eagle was obey , it means he will be dear by the president or governor. If dreamt an eagle took him to the sky, means he will travel for the government and will get some fame. If dreamt he took the hunt from an eagle, means he will be the treasurer minister. If dreamt an eagle hurt him, by its beak means will have some trouble by the governor and will have some loss. If dreamt was fighting with an eagle will have enmity and fight with the king or the governor. If dreamt ate an eagle or took its feathers means will receive some money from a governor or king. If dreamt an eagle landed on his head means he will have a child who will be a governor. If dreamt had an eagle also means a long life.

If one dreamt had a beak like birds means he will receive some money.
If dreamt an eagle or vulture hit him a beak and he felt pain means he will have a loss.
If dreamt he had a bird beak means he will receive some money.

Osprey means some dignity and achieving a wish.( white eagle).
Or may mean a governor or a great man.

If one dreamt about a royal falcon means he will receive some dignity by the governor.
If dreamt about a tame falcon means he will have a child.
Some interpreters say royal falcon means a man who knows many things.
It may also mean :
1- dignity 2- directorship 3- money 4- a child.

Sailrmc, I am quite impressed. Your analysis and inferences are astonishingly accurate. I am in the process of searching for a new job/career. I was laid off recently (approx 2 weeks ago). That has been on my mind a lot lately. I actually may be a bit lazy in my search though. You/dream have opened my eyes to this fact. I don't see myself as an opportunist, but perhaps I have taken on some of those characteristics lately. The white feathers; I hope I don't have a "life debilitating illness" and a "sick way of life" I am going to chalk that up to a life with out a job right now.

Anyhow, very interesting. thanks
