Question A fat wife cooked her skinny husband in an oven and ate him... meaning?

I had this dream about three years ago, but it was so vivid that I still remember it clearly even now.

During that period of time, I had been depressed, and my sleeps were constantly with themes of being chased, murders, deaths, blood etc.

Dream:

I was in this kitchen on the ground floor, it was dirty, but lit with a dirty lightbulb. The room had an orange, red colour to it. It was grubby, had dirt everywhere and stains. There was no windows apart from a door that exits to the garden, but the door is closed. There is a wooden kitchen table on the left wall, and on the right wall of the room is the kitchen worktop and the metal oven.

There is a fat sweaty woman seated next to the kitchen table. The air to the room is stale. Her husband is sweaty and very thin, perhaps emaciation describes him well. He is wearing a dirty white vest top. The wife has an apron on.

Suddenly the woman flungs her husband into the oven and roasts him. And he shouts with submission 'Not again!' Giving the impression that she has ate parts of him before, which kind of explains why he is skinny. The air fills with the pungent smell of human meat roasting...

I would appreciate it if someone explains to me the significance of this dream.

Thanks.

Hi dreamergirl,

Wow, what a disturbing dream!
I may be way off base, but this is what I see from your post.

I'm wondering if you had a tough time when you were younger. Either being abused or neglected. Kitchen is supposed to be an area of nurturing, but in your dream, it is filthy. The color red can mean aggression, shame, and danger. A closed door may mean something inside is being hidden. (A secret.)
Cannabalism can mean something or someone was draining your self worth and your energy. YOu may have had very low self esteem.
A man may represent strength, aggression, rational behavior. In your dream, this figure is being "drained" of these qualities, rendering him helpless.
A woman represents nurturing. HOwever, the nurturing figure in the dream is taking on the role of the aggressor. The man and woman's roles are reversed here. WHo in your life could these represent?

Finally, you said during this time, yyou were depressed. WHich would explain, if that was the situation.

Please let me know if I'm on or off.....maybe I can think of somehting else given more info.
Please take care,

Hi,
Simply means a rich woman would speak behind the back of her poor husband .
Being fat means being rich , being skinny means short of money.
In the holy books it is said; Don't speak behind the back of people do you like to eat your brothers dead flesh.
Good luck.

You are right.

During that time, I had alot of bad dreams, with the themes of death, being chased, dark stuff.

My mother was giving me alot of grief during the time, she did not accept my boyfriend, which made me depressed as her opinion means alot to me, and at the same time i couldnt live without him, i was in love.

also i was getting alot of stress from the academic side of things, ie. preparing for finals which results would determine the success of my university applications.

My family unit is quite isolated from the rest of my other family, as my mother does not get on with my dad's side of the family. I myself dont get along with my own family members. Also my mum did not accept my friends either, she felt they were too dumb for me...

so I was depressed. alone. sad. miserable. worried. etc.

Maybe the fat lady in my dream is her. And perhaps I am the man? I am confused to who these human characters represent.

The kitchen was grubby, greasy, stained and dirty. Maybe thats how I felt about my home? I dont know. There was no comfort at the time. Home was the source of stress, siblings squabbles etc.

I am the only girl in the family and the eldest and have several younger brothers, who are kind of aggressive.

Maybe the fat lady represents all the stressors in my lifef during the time? I dont know.

Now that you interpretated it, it kind of fmade sense. I didnt see it as that.

let me know what u think!

xxx

this is a recent dream (3 days ago)

I had a really bad dream last night, and it has been on my mind all day. The dream feel so real, I felt sick, nauseated etc.

I had to get through this path to somewhere, maybe I was on my way home I dont know. The path was barracaded with benches and bins, I moved it out of the way to pass. And the residence (house nearby) told me a group of boys had taken one of their baby and done something cruel and asked if I wanted to see. I was in their home and they had a number of babies, I said 'no, I dont want to see. I hope you understand', they said they did. But I saw the baby anyway... the baby had the top of it's scalp cut off, the white of the skull showed, there was blood, the baby was in agony and distorted. I felt sick, horrified, and sorry for the baby, why would anyone do such a cruel thing to an innocent life? I felt the gang who did it was the root of evil. The baby had a whole life ahead of him, and it did not deserve this.

The detectives asked me questions and said they will find the gang responsible.

Somehow I think I was in the gang's hangout, or I was caught. I cant remember exactly what I saw. But there was blood everywhere, torture, murder, rape... it was a horrible place. I felt scared, sick, disgusted, apalled etc. And I think they were going to kill me or torture me too.

dreams link not so much to real events but to the reality as it exists within your mind. So if we watch tv about someone then we may feel a certain identification with tem. The dream lives onut the reality of those stories inside your head. The highs and lows. They will also pass judgemtn on your actions

a fat woman feeding on a thin man maybe linked to feelings of depression. When we feel depressed we need to feed. we feed alltoo much... getting very low. Fatness is alkso linked to unhelthiness and so the fat woman feedng on this thin man suggests a constant ned to feed some unhealthy emotional state.

I tend to relate dreams to thoughts that we recognise too well. Your dreams may well be linked to this state... they may also be completely irrrelevnt but I am just trying to show you how depresion could link to this dream
------------------------
Often one symbol in a dream will seemingly have no relationship to any other. Totally bizarre things happen and there seems to be no sense to the dreams meaning. Thats because some symbols have a very cryptic meaning. A parachute may simply express the need to escape from a very difficult relationship. The need to land safely is a direct comparison to the need to land safely in an emotional sense. Yet within the context of the dream it makes no sense. It seems confusing and funny when we describe a moment when our granny gets hit by a parachutist. But dreams are like that. One portion of the dream makes no real sense within the story of the dream. Yet its meaning is there. The trick is to weave together various symbols. So see how that parachutist links within your own real life thoughts. So if you woke up that morning and felt "Yesterday I started to realise that I need to get out of my relationship with my boyfriend. He is being totally abusive. Right now I just need to escape with as little fuss as possible". Its likely that this dream about a parachutist is directly linked to those real life thoughts. Then start to piece together a wider meaning to the dream. Look at the possible symbolic meanings to the other symbols and try to see what the dream is saying overall.
