Here is one my spouse had last night. Ideas, interpretations are welcome. My husband leaves this morning for a job interview out of state.
Here was the dream: He was at a job interview. It was being conducted in two trailers. A key to the trailer was taped to the front of the trailer. He was being interviewed over a single large desk. The man interviewing had a mangled, knarled right hand. The interviewer asked about educational background. My husband responded it was on his resume but on the last lines. They fumbled around to locate the info. The interviewer asked my husband something to the effect of "Too Can or Too Good?" My husband responded confidently "Too Can". The guy then said "we're done here" , interview was over. Shocked, my husband asked for the interviewer to explain. "I don't understand. I've been successful at everything I've done so far." Then he woke up. |

When evaluating a dream one must first consider that which matches up to real life events. Example...if your husband is in any way in his waking life seeking a job then the dream primarily would be about just this.
However the mind often uses emotionally charged situational parallels in dreams with unrelated events in life. So if your husband does not seek a job in real life then the dream is possibly renegotiating his station in life (not job related). Either way the dream shows that your husband is considering some kind of change in his life. It appears that your husband might feel that his is overqualified or "better than" what is needed. The key taped outside the trailers shows that what ever he seeks (and he does or did have a choice). He is in a position of control yet he does not want to choose one opportunity over the other. The keys also might indicate that he is facing quite a personal decision of choosing one person over another. Your husband already knows what this is about. Your thoughts are appreciated? sailrmc |

Dreams are generally in the habit of bringing to attention some aspect of the dreamers life that for the most part is or remains unconscious.
Dreams depict symbolicly the weaving together of the different energies that make up the intricate layers of ones 'own' psyche. Often men in dreams are reference to the dreamers own masculine energies for example they reflect aspects of the intellect, the ability to rationalise, along with attitudes and beliefs the dreamer holds. The role played by this particular aspect of your husbands own psyche is in affect one of judge and decision maker, I almost get the sense that your husband in his unconscious reality has been 'interviewing' himself if you like in relation to his own achievements, and although stated he has been very successful in all that he has set out to do there is still something 'missing' which is preventing him form creating an internal foundation for what success truly is. The missing educational background seems to give reference not so much too an externalised educational system of achievement but rather the lessons learned in life at an emotional mental and spiritual level, when references are made to education, schools and universities in dreams it is often in relation to the lessons learnt on ones own life path, in some ways life will constantly present us with the same challenges over and over again whereby we repeat the same patterns of behaviour until we understand the deeper meaning in the challenges we face or adopt more agreeable responses to situations from deep within our being as opposed to responding from our ego awareness. It seems here that this inner judgment is at an unconscious level with in your husband in relation to what he has learnt, there seems to be also reference to how your husband gives of his masculine energy 'mangled hand' which is damaged Iin our society today we paint a vision of success in what we accomplish in the external world, and the the point of shock within your husband is that this false notion of success which is embedded within his egos point of reference through which he perceives the world is being challenged by an unconscious notion that there is still something missing form ones life resume its there its just not within your husbands awareness. It is likely that your husband has intuited many ways of making positive changes in his internal life and has happened across much of what makes him tick though he has not brought this to his conscious sense of identity and instead continues to act out from his ego responses to what success is. Thia is what is missing this 'education' within ones inner being. The dream indicates how your husbands energies are out of balance between possibly what he gives out to the world in the form of judgment both of himself and others 'mangled right hand' and what he receives. The key is a symbol that this pattern which is boxed in within the psyche can be unlocked and the ability to gain insight and make the necessary adjustments within is there if he so chooses. These are just some avenues to explore and may or may not resonate with your husband as with all dreams the interperation is best left to the dreamer take what suits Best of luck Blueberry Last edited by blueberrysummer : 02-21-2008 at 02:17 PM. |

well often dreams hide there meaning. Most dreams show you analysing some situation. Maybe the dream means this
"interviews can go well. But although I am prepared some unexpected can happen" I just think it can link to some anxieties. You may see it as a bad omen but its really difficult to tell in such circumstances. ------------------------ We often go to the movies or watch TV and can get highly involved in the plot and emotions that the characters go through. Dreams are very much like this. If a dream seems highly emotional then it maybe is capturing the emotions that you feel about some situation in your life. So see how these little movies really captured your emotions from yesterday. Pick out crucial moments from the previous day and see how the emotions and feelings are replayed. Many dreams simply capture the emotions that we feel - many simply capture emotions that are easy to recognise such as happiness, sadness and frustration. When we watch a TV show it may not bear any direct relation to our own real lives but still we can identify with the characters in simple ways. So forget the detailed plot of a dream and just try to get a clue from the dreams simple emotions. Then see what relevance they have to your own life. How do the characters in the dream feel and how are they similar to your own real life? Great ideas everyone. Thanks for your input. As for "knowing what it is about". My husband doesn't take much stock in the meaning of dreams ha. He rarely remembers them so when he has one that is remembered I usually think it means something...
Blueberry, I like your take on the educational background. It seems very apt for his current situation. Anyway, the real interview is this afternoon, so I guess we'll see if there was any fortelling involved as well. Again, thank you all. |
