When I was young...Well, younger than I am now, as I am only fifteen, I had the strangest dream. And I had completely forgotten about it until recently. A few days ago I had the same exact dream. And it's really, really been bothering me. Could someone please help interpret it for me? I would be eternally grateful to you if you can help.
The dream: I was very, very beautiful. I had long wavy red hair and I was wearing a dark blue satin ballroom gown. I remember this because I glanced at myself in the mirror. I was me, but I wasn't. It's rather hard to explain. It's almost as if I had some kind of past life... Anyway, it starts off in a huge dark ballroom. It's oddly similair to this very old one in the middle of nowhere that hasn't been used in years. I used to go there alone sometimes, just to recollect my thoughts and write. But the ballroom was filled with people...Extraordinarily beautiful people that I knew couldn't be human at all. With a burst of intuition, I realized that they were vampires. Yes, vampires, strangely enough. And they were all wearing black gowns and the men wearing tuxedos. And all of them, with their intense golden eyes were staring at me. Whispering amongst themselves. I clearly stood out, being the only human and wearing color. I wasn't frightened, however. I was supposed to be there, but I wasn't exactly sure why. I remember clearly the way the flames of the hundreds of candles on each table cast strange shadows on their faces. But my attention was taken away from them, by another vampire. He was young. Blonde. Extremely beautiful. He came to me and asked me to dance. I knew him, but I didn't. He was familiar to me, but not. We danced, and danced to the haunting sound of violins and a piano. It felt more like a funeral than a party. In the midst of our dancing, he whispered to me, "Miranda, Miranda, do let us go out on to the veranda of death." He took my hand then, and led me out on to a veranda. It was very dark outside. And very cold... The dream kind of blurs there. But the next thing that I remember was him kissing me, passionately so, as if we would never see each other again. And then he...drank from me. Drained me of my blood - of my life. Slowly, and gently, he layed me down on the floor. I stared up at the black sky, at the millions of glittering stars and slowly passed out of the world. I don't understand this dream AT ALL. It bothers me so so so much. It was so vivid. I can nearly remember everything. By the way, my name isn't Miranda. I don't know why I'm called that. And both times when I woke up from the dream, both during the middle of the night, I felt as if someone were watching me. Could someone please help explain this to me?

Hi,
First dreams of immatured children ( When you were younger) is refered to their parents , girls is about their mother. So, you were in the mirror and it wasn't you or was someone else.It means a seperation for your mother at that time or a quarrel with her partner about someone else in his life. And now the repeated dream is about you and your bf . Blue color means christianity and dark blue means a sorrow on the way. Vampire if blood drinker mean someone who uses your money to the end . Dance means a sorrow or an illness. He drained your money means he will waste your money. You died means you will understand and your problem will be solved. Good luck.

Hi Martyr of Beauty, you write very well and I was intrigued by your story. It sounds almost like a movie. I look forward to your response on this and any answers/links you may have realised from the interpretation.

Often dreams can simply be internal. They represent some aspect of your own present mood. This maybe links to a darker mood within you. One which is pretty indulgent... basking in the gothic symbolism. Perhaps a little cynical. Does that reflect your mood just recntly? I read your signature and thats the kind of thing I mean... prince charming is dead etc. Has that mood become more prevalent just recently.
------------------------ People expect too much from dream dictionaries. Can you really expect a dream dictionary to provide an explanation of what your dream means simply because it included a particular symbol? It’s an absurd suggestion. The best comparison is to expect someone what a sentence means by just giving them one word within it. For instance to ask someone what a sentence means that includes the word "soldier". In reality the process in almost impossible. There are so many different ways that the word can be used that interpreting the dream just by spotting one word within it is simply ridiculous. The word soldier can be used in many different ways such as "I need to soldier on", "we have not got enough soldiers in Iraq", and "I want to be a soldier when I grow up". So why do people expect a dream interpreter to be able to simply understand a dream by the inclusion of one symbol. In practice dream symbolism work in much the same way as ordinary dictionaries. A soldier can represent themselves but they can also be used in a wider context to show the types of qualities that a soldier exhibits (toughness and the ability to endure hardship and follow rules). So think how anyone of those symbolic meanings relates to recent events. It’s really important to use a process of association. Associate the dream symbol with real life thoughts. First ask yourself if the symbol could represent itself. Did you think of any real life soldiers the day before? But also consider the qualities that soldier’s exhibit. Did those same qualities have any relevance the day before? Did you need to follow rules and be disciplined? Did the same seem like a constant struggle? Also consider the day to come and see how that relates to possible symbolic meanings. Did you resolve to soldier on in some difficult situation? Work though all the symbols in the same way and see what real life issues can best fit the real situation in your life. But also consider telepathy and premonitions as they too are part of the many aspects of dreaming. Yes, you did describe your dream as "beautiful." Maybe you are intrigued by goth culture? I'm not Goth, but I get curious about it, maybe that's why I foudnd your dream so interesting as well.
