Strange dreams/nightmares about a friend

Hi! I just wanted to tell you guys that I've been dreaming very similar dreams about this friend of mine for about nine months (I know, it sounds very weird). We are in a high school band together, and I began dreaming about her after our first June band camp. There are about four or five dreams I have had that I remember very clearly. One is where she is falling in darkness, and I try to save her, but I don't make it in time, and she dies. Another is that we are at school, and she tries to say something to me, but I don't actually hear what she says. She then pulls out a knife and stabs me, but I don't know if it's on purpose or not. These are the two main dreams that have recurred over and over again.

Two other dreams I have had about her are more recent ones that lasted for one night each. One was that she was standing over me while I was praying (which was actually a daydream, but I was praying when I had it), and her eyes were glowing. She wasn't blinking, but I don't think that she meant me harm or help. She looked like she may have been curious. That frightened me a lot more than any other daydream I've had about her, and my whole body shivered after it was over. The other dream, which I had two nights ago, was about she and I being in the band room. I couldn't breathe in the dream, and I ran out side to get fresh air, hoping to get my breath back. I began to cough up blood in my hands, but she was there, and I think she was comforting me or trying to help.

I know this all sounds very strange, perhaps fictional, but it is all completely true. I think the dreams mean that I don't want to hurt her, but that I love and appreciate her a lot as a friend. If you have had any dreams that have lasted this long or are this intense, I would highly appreciate anything you have to say. Thanks! =)

Your dreams seem to mean that you are conflicted about your friend. You seem to have two different paths and values and you have not agreed with many of her choices. You may find this friend at times as being untrustworthy, clingy and deceptive. This conflicts with what you believe a friend should be. Although you want to assist her into living a different way, you are unable to. As a result, you feel suffocated by the friendship. I also believe the dream hints at you not being able to communicate your feelings appropriately to her and not being able to establish appropriate boundaries so you are not negatively affected by her choices.

well if she pulls out a knife on you and you do not know if its intentional then that has a clear meaning. Its like a metaphor. It may mean that someone close to you has recently taken a stab at you.. made a critical comment.. and you are perhaps trying to gauge if its intentional. Often we try to read these little signals. Someone may appear to make a very ciritcal comment.. but we may have misunderstood them. We do not just interpret the language which people say.. we also try to read other signals.

Dreams use symbols. In real life you will say something like "I need to be recognised and accepted. I just seem to constantly fighting against peopel who do not respect me in the way that they should". yet a dream will also express such a concept but in symbolic form. I just had another day dream about her yesterday. It was raining outside in reality, but then I had a dream that my friend and I (the same one from these other dreams) were on a cliff. It was raining very hard in the dream, like a storm was occuring. There was water below the cliff, and my friend fell off the cliff, but I grabbed her by the hand or wrist and kept her from falling. I yelled loudly with the effort that it took to hold onto her, but, after some time, I pulled her back onto the land with what seemed like super-human strength (perhaps adrenaline?), and she passed out on top of me. I think I may have passes out, too, but I remember closing my eyes after she passed out. It was still raining in the dream and in reality.

Also, I had a continuation of the dream where I threw up blood. I dreamed that after that happened, an ambulance came to get me. I have never been in an ambulance before, but I was riding in one with a paramedic. He was saying something to me, like "Are you okay?" or something, but I'm not sure if that was it exactly.
