Hi
been a while. I had this dream that I had this fully grown lion in my house and I was concerned that it was going to turn on me or the children or people that were coming in and out of my house. In my dream I had rescued the lion when it was younger and now that it was grown and likely to be dangerous I knew I could no longer keep it but I couldnt find anywhere for it to go and when I tried to look up telephone numbers for the zoo - I couldnt see any numbers.

To dream of a lion means a great force is driving you. They are masculine figures, often symbols of leadership and in many cultures they personify the sun. Lions can also represent danger, power, pride and untamed instincts.

I will add to what Beatles Man has said (and he said it well) that the lion also symbolizes a dominant attitude, (leadership by example peppered with a slight bit of attitude), that likely comes over you from time to time. As well, a notion is brought out that shows, that your anger or attitude may, at times, be a bit unpredictable.

Hi,
If one dreamt was fighting a lion means he will fight and argue with an enemy or rival and the one who was the winner ( lion or him) will overcome. If dreamt a lion was chasing him but couldn't reach him means he will have a fear by the governor. If dreamt he was running away a lion and the lion didn't chase him means he will be safe from a fear *********88.If dreamt he was eating some lion meat means the governor will gift him something. If dreamt he had sex with a lion means he will have abjectness from the governor. If dreamt the governor gave him a lion means he will be a governor too.If dreamt he was riding a lion means he will receive some dignity and rank.If dreamt he was milking a she-lion means he will be a secretary. If a woman dreamt she was milking a lion means she will be a nana for the governor's baby.If dreamt he was carrying a lion on his back means he will overcome the enemy. If dreamt the lion bit him means the enemy will hurt him.If dreamt he hugged a lion means he will be a player for the governor. If dreamt he was eating food with a lion means he will receive money from a governor.Lion may also mean :1- a king 2- a brave man 3- a powerful enemy.

Thank you for your input - its really good to get another opinion. I am just not sure that the lion represents my force, I think it may be my fears.

The bottom line is that the lion does represent emotions, but mostly emotions that you do not want to surface. This is why you seek a place for them to live away from you (a zoo is a nice environment because the Lion could be easily confined or controlled).
I believe the emotion that is depicted (in the symbol of the lion) is one that you fear, and not necessarily fear itself. In essence you fear being that which the lion represents...a fearless leader, one who is semi unpredictable etc. sailrmc |

well is there someone with a ferocious temper close to you? someone whom you thought could be ok but recently you have had doubts. Even consider yourself
------------------------ What exactly is a dream? A dream often captures some new thought or feeling or fantasy. Often deeply embedded in it is some idea or thought. Try to bear that in mind when understanding a dream. A dream will symbolise some conceptual thought such as "I think my grandmother is still angry with me after what I said" . Many dreams revolve us making such judgements based upon our intuitions. How exactly do you go about understanding the meaning of a dream symbol? Well first you start to make associations with that symbol. Take for instance if you had a dream about Tony Blair the Prime Minister of the UK. You can associate many things with him. First of all he is a decision maker. The dream then could capture you wanting to take some serious decision within your own life. But equally Tony Blair is a man who began his political life a hero who was universally popular. Now he is disliked by almost everyone in the country. Maybe the dream captures some similar situation for yourself eg "When I first started my job everyone liked me. I could do nothing wrong. But recently I have become universally unpopular". But we could also see Tony Blair in another sense. He is the ally of President Bush and is often accused of doing everything he says and because of this has been accused of being a poodle. So maybe the dream captures some theme with a similar "yes man" theme. But Tony Blair could also have different meanings. He has virtually said that he will resign in the spring and there was much speculation about this and about how he should go about resigning. Maybe the dream captures a similar theme in your own life eg "I am thinking of leaving my job. But if I tell my boss it may cause trouble for me. I might just leave it as long as possible". Therefor its possible to list many different symbolic meanings. Any one of these could be correct. The first association that comes to mind is not always the correct one. Its a matter of trying out different theories and then seeing if they fit the situation or feelings within your life. If one seems to work then try working in the other dream symbols. Would you happen to be in a relationship that can at times be a tad volatile? That is what your dream seems to indicate.

I was not intuitive but I was a tad cautious as I tried to avoid being seen a assertive. You said this, "I had this dream that I had this fully grown lion in my house and I was concerned that it was going to turn on me or the children or people that were coming in and out of my house. In my dream I had rescued the lion when it was younger and now that it was grown and likely to be dangerous I knew I could no longer keep it but I couldnt find anywhere for it to go and when I tried to look up telephone numbers for the zoo - I couldnt see any numbers".
The first part underlined suggests that your partner is probably a 'bear's breath'; the second conveys that he was more responsive and affectionate when you both first met but he is now becoming a bit blaze; the final piece reveals that separation has been a consideration but something is preventing this. This information did not come from myself but from what you said; there is nothing intuitive involved; it is simple logic. Sadly, others attribute dreaming as possessing something magical which serves only to confuse. It is simply a way of using words (mainly phrases) differently. Thank you for the feedback. |
