Lost in a building

This is a recurring dream that I've been having for months now. The basic gist of it is that I'm in this several-story building and I want to get down to the first floor and out. There are a lot of elevators, but I want to avoid those if possible (in real life I can use an elevator but prefer stairs). I seem to know that there is one set of stairs but it's difficult to find and you can only use them a certain way, somehow. I think maybe you can take the stairs down part of the way, then have to get off on a certain floor and find some more stairs or something. Anyway, that's the basic dream, and I'm always looking around trying to find a way out. The building stays the same, but sometimes it is supposed to be a place I used to work and sometimes it's supposed to be my old college.

Last night had a new twist. I was trying to find my way out when I saw what I thought was sort of a food stand with lots of racks. I saw what I thought was an empty off-white styrofoam cup on one of the racks and picked it up, thinking that I'd put a drink in it later. I thought it was free, but as I walked away I had this niggling feeling that maybe it might cost something. Some people kind of stopped me and started questioning me about the cup, but they pointed out that it was actually a baby sweater (very tiny, would have to be a preemie!). I looked at it and it was a tiny little sweater, still the same off-white color. I don't think they believed me when I said I thought it was a cup. They showed me a similar sweater in black with a little logo of some kind on it. They said it cost $37. I was sitting on a bench by this point and didn't know if they were going to let me leave. I wanted to just give them the sweater and go. Then it just ended.
