Please if someone has an opinion on why I dream this, you're welcome to comment!
Last night again I dreamed about a guy that has passed away about 4 years ago. We went to school together but weren't ever good friends. I had a crush on him in primary school and have always thought him quite cute. Have never been really in love with him. His death was front page news in our small town and I can remember reading the article. Something that his mom said stuck with me. She was worried about money or something and he just said: "Don't worry mom, God will provide." I'm quite a religious person and it struck me. To my knowledge he wasn't ever very close to God in his school years, or it didn't seem like it. When I read the article I strangely wish I could have been with him. I missed him for some reason. After that I never gave him much thought and really never dwelled on him. Since then I've had very vivid dreams about him every now and then. I'm always in love with him in my dream. After the dream I forget about it again and then a few months later, out of the blue I'll have this very clear vivid dream about us again. Its a bit disturbing to me because he has passed away. I feel he wants to tell me something but what? Last night I dreamed about him again but this time it was a bit different. In my dreamed it freaked me out to see him. He was in the distance and was just staring at me. I looked away and when I looked back he was a bit further away but still staring at me. Next time I looked he was gone. Anyone any ideas on what this means? |

This dream is straight forward in it's approach. You have missed one opportunity to know him well and now that he is not here any longer you are missing another to make your peace and let him go.
There it another concept to consider in addition to the straight forward meaning. That would be one of what is commonly called a dream guide. If you do a search and look up dream guide you will see several explanations (that I have given in others dreams). Basically a dream guide is a character role in your dreams. It's purpose is one which facilitates awareness of the intended meaning of your dreams by first getting the dreamers attention. Then when you follow your dream guide he or she will lead you to the action in the dream that conveys the intended meaning, (or symbolism that leads to the meaning). After the dreamer discovers that which he/or she is meant to see the dream guide vanishes or wanders away until next time. This role is cast by the subconscious mind and it fills this role with someone who is irresistible (in some way) to the dreamer. Many times it will be someone like your friend who had qualities and a look that are a huge attraction to the dreamer. Sometimes in the meeting with the dream guide, there will be an embrace and a kiss, symbolizing the start of a solid and lasting relationship that the subconscious mind is building with the dreamer. The encounter never turns sexual. If it ever goes there this person is not a dream guide. The purpose becomes two fold in your case, because now you will have him by your side (representing the subconscious mind as it's helper, to guide you to and through aspects of your life that can be enhanced through awareness and acknowledgment). Next your subconscious mind (through this role it has cast), builds a relationship with you, one that can and will be life changing. The down side is this. Typically, as time goes on, your dream guide will not be needed because you will have learned to retrieve the messages that the subconscious mind provides, (through dreaming), without being guided to the action of the dream that directly relates to the primary meaning of the dream. He will be there to lead you in times of extreme importance (when you are distracted from or when you happen not to go to the intended meaning of your dream. A dreamer once told me that the dream guide is like sugar to a horse. The feelings when encountering a dream guide can be like none ever felt before. The intensity of feeling and emotion is incredible, almost to the point of being unbelievable. One other thing. Some would say that this dream is about closure relating to the death of your friend, but I would say it is about a wonderful relationship in the making. Let me know if you have further questions or need clarification. There are many types of dream guides, and your's is one that is "classic" example. sailrmc |

well I would agree with sailrmcs interpretation. A dream guide is a pretty strong symbol. In life we look for help and guidancer. Here this guy seems to be associated with help and guidance. He represents a deep connection with someone now dead.. a spiritual connection... a kind of magic ... a belief that things will turn out right. He maybe links to a belief in predestination... that things are just meant to be. But here he is in the far distance. So you are maybe quyestioning suhc thoughts right now... having real doubts. perhaps feelings that things are not meant to be. That they will not just turn out right.
------------------------ Nightmares have the ability to really frighten us. Thats because they contain weird and supernatural dream symbols such as demons and monsters. The forces that we fight against seem all too powerful. But really many nightmares are sourced right in the here and now. They symbolize our day to day traumas and difficulties. Many simply reflect on the previous day. Perhaps you simply took one risk too many? Perhaps you acted in a nasty and malicious way and your dream is alerting you to this. Many nightmares will not mention anything that can remotely link to real life in any meaningful way. But the link to reality is there. Really the best way to see nightmares is simply ask your self what real life situations are drifting into some nightmare scenario? What relationship is becoming a real problem? If you look up nightmare in the dictionary its definition is probably more down to earth than dreams would have us believe. A nightmare is really just a very big problem. In real life we get problems all the time and sometimes they get out of hand.
