snake dream

i dreamed of a large white snake with a red head. i was driving and it crawled up around my right side of my head and down the other. i was driving a car and pulled into my childhood home, my mother who has been dead for 23 years was there and I hollered for her at that point I woke up. It was very vived and real the snakes colors were extremely bright. Any ideas?

A snake means a hidden enemy apparenly friend like a jealous person,If didn't bite there is no loss.
Dreaming of a deceased person alive means : 1- she has a good situation in the spirituals 2- a forgotten or something got impossible job of you will revive for you.

The white snake (especially bright white) typically represents illness (serious illness).The snake symbolism has been used for many centuries depicting physicians and their mission to help those who are ailing. Apparently your mom had a severe illness before her passing. In any case the bright red head (if you felt it was a non threatening snake) would likely represent the emotion of love or I could see the love of a close family member such as your mom.
With such little to go on I can only surmise that this dream symbolic of remembering (in a fond way) your mom, who is not alive, but yes, she is present in your mind where she will live forever.
There are other possibilities as to what the snake is depicting however they are similar to what I have already pointed out...just more specific of her condition.
