In this dream, which occured last night, I am seeing nothing. It is almost like I am sitting down with my eyes closed. A phone rings and I pick it up. It is my mother on the line. She says to me, "Hi. Please plan your grandmother's funeral for next Tuesday." So I say, "Why??!! Is she dead??!!" and my mother said, "No...but she is very ill, and I think she will die soon, so plan the funeral." and I said, "But Mum, that doesn't make any sense and it's so insensitive...why should we plan a funeral...after all, she might get better." My mother replied, "You're right. Okay then, bye,"
Now, my mother has said to me recently that she feels my Gran over reacts at the slightest ache and pain and runs to the doctor for everything, when she should just accept that she is getting older and should rest some more. Btw, my mother is on sick leave right now. My grandmother doesn't live with us, but she comes over a few days a week. My aunt came by today and left her knee brace at our house for her, because she left her knee brace at my aunt's house about 2 weeks ago. That made me feel a little spooked out. I haven't actually spoken to my grandmother since Monday, but I'll call her now to find out if anything is different. I won't tell her the dream to freak her out, Maybe I can interpret this myself! In the meantime, it would be cool to read your thoughts. Last edited by PassionSpirit : 02-07-2008 at 01:36 PM. |

Well if you could see inside the mind then you would possibly see how your own feelings are constructed. how they are formed. This dream probably has more to do with the inner workings of the mind. It merely confirms what is reality... the way that your mom agrees with you in the end... its about your attitude towards your grandmother and her illnesses.
Some few dreams link to premonitionsd but most simply link to the inner workings of the mind... those illogical and badly thougfhts out feelings... the moods we gget into. Often we are wrong. People see dreams as being very important. But most are not. if dreams do link to the inner workings of the mind then expect them to be wrong often. If I had your dream then I would not worry too much. Especiually as there seems to have been some logical cause to the dream ------------------------ When you get a dream first try to see it in simple ways. In a very simplified version think if the dream is good or bad. If you feel good in the dream and things are going well then just sum up that portion of the dream as "feeling good". Then try to see where you are feeling good in life. Is there some relationship that is making you feel good? Is there some situation that cheered you up yesterday? Are you generally feeling good right now? Such simple clues are the easiest ones to trace. So instead of getting caught up in the details of the dream first take an overview. Many dreams work through changes in our feelings and will describe ways in which our emotions transformed. So first reduce your dream to a simple list of emotions such as "I felt good and was optomistic", "I was confused" and "I felt frustrated". The basic details of the dream may involve all kinds of symbols and hidden meanings but often you get the best clues from the feelings. If you take the above list of feelings in the dream it maybe exactly capturing your feelings from the day before when "I was really looking forward to work yesterday. Then a colleague started to interfere in my work project and I became angry. My ideas were undermined and I ended the day feeling frustrated". The dream itself may feature all kinds of silly details which bear no resemblance to reality but the dream captures the exact feelings and emotions over some specific incident. Oh, I'm not worried about it at all. I know that death in dreams hardly mean death in real life. What I found most interesting about that dream was that I could not see. I was more or less blind. I don't recall having a dream like that before.

well a little part of you maybe thinking about your grandmothers possible death. Its a like a dress rehearsal. We plan through what may happen and then we see how we will feel in the event it does happen.
------------------ One way of telling how vital dreams are is to study people who are deprived of sleep and dreams.Sleep deprivation is very dangerous if it continues for extended periods. If you are deprived of sleep for several days then you will slip into madness. The reason for this is that sleep and dreams are linked to vital brain functions. During the day we store up new thoughts and experiences within short term memory blocks. So if we are deprived sleep these become overloaded. The mind has no more space to store new feelings so these are merely forgotten. During sleep vital brain waves emerge. Beta waves and theta waves are only ever detected within the brain at night. These help us process through those new feelings and experiences stored in short term memory. We integrate these new feelings into long term memory blocks. So if you do not sleep then you will not be updating your thoughts. You will not be building a bigger picture.
