Default Please help: new to interpretation

I can remember only certain images from this dream. The first I remember is being outside at night in this very mystical garden of black and dark green with a lot of vines, hedges, and some very strange unidentifiable plants. There was this magician in dark blue, black, and some other color who spread his cloak out as if finishing an incantation and left through the foliage. Then I started following this cat that had subsequently appeared and toward which I felt affection, but had to stop abruptly when it vanished into the black. I vaguely remember starting to float at that point.
Then I remember being in this room of white which was supposedly mine, and leaving it to go check on a friend who was somehow unable to get to hers. I didn't know the girl or what had happened, but she seemed very distressed. So, I offered her a glass of water. She accepted and followed me to my room. Then I was in someone else's red room, and I was admiring the room. Though I remember feeling sympathy because the girl was trapped in it. There was just this whole sequence of being in different rooms, my own, leaving mine, going to others, and feeling distinct differences.

The next thing I remember is trying to get into a store that I was afraid of closing. I stuck my fingers through as the door was closing and managed to slip in. But when I got in, I realized that the owner had just sealed all the entrances and that I would be locked in till the next morning. Then this old man slipped on after me, as if to steal something, and I got mad, wanting to defend the store. So I pretended to call the manager, pretending my hand was a phone as people do. He looked amused and continued to rummage. But then I somehow perfected the image, and he left.

Another random image was being at this huge concert, but I couldn't tell if it was a concert or a political demonstration. Then I remember hiding in different places. Though I don't know what I was hiding from.

Strange.

Anyway,I don't know what to make of it beyond the bits of information I could get out of the dream dictionary. So, I would be very grateful if someone could help.

Hi,
Veins are a few beautiful ,rich women, the fences means they are under protection.

Magic means a useless job.
If one dreamt was doing magic means will do a useless job.
Some interpreters say practice of magic means deceiving someone.
If dreamt practiced magic for someone means he will promise in lie to deceive people.
Magician is a deceiver enemy.
Magic may also mean : 1- sedition 2- deceive 3- trickery 4- conspiracy 5- lie 6- useless job.
If someone was thirsty and found water and drank means she will commit a sin.

Default Thanks!

Even if I, too, am female? Is that what their presence still means? What about the cat?
The Magician is very interesting. :-)

Default Rooms

Hello...

I am new to these postings and I do not claim to be an expert in dream interpretation....but I have been told by my friends that I interpret well. You be the judge on this.

My interpretation of your dream is that the dream is both a warning and a reflection of your desires in life (and perhaps your calling). You are a person who wants to help others...mostly in the area of overcoming their own negative feelings or mindsets that are holding them captive. The girl in the red room was entrapped with anger. The girl you brought back to your own room and gave water to was someone in need of rest from their own struggles. You want to defend people, protect people and comfort others but in doing so you can also become entangled in their devices. You stand for justice but sometimes this can overwhelm you because so many people are in need and you believe that these people are not always aware of what is happening. The magician and the cat may indicate your intrigue with a higher calling for justice but it may also be a warning that you may be deceived by pursuing this endeavor without full knowledge of what is going on. It is only after you left your own room that you became entrapped but by leaving you were able to help others. Balance seems to be needed to protect yourself and to help others. Let me know what you think about this interpretation. I hope it is helpful.

Default An additional approach to your dream

One way to interpret the mystical garden is to view it as being an image of your psyche or “soul” overall. The presence of the magician adds to the idea that the dream is coming from a deep important layer of your unconscious mind. This is because something “mystical” and a fascinating magician aren’t part of everyday life but are strange and moving images.

Perhaps an important life event is on the horizon such as just starting out or you are getting married etc. In this take on your dream, it would be trying to outline as well as it could through metaphor and analogy certain basic points that it would be best for you to be conscious of as you move forward.

Trying to interpret such a dream accurately without a large amount of background information about the dreamer is very difficult if not impossible, but in general terms the magician and his dark cloak would tend to represent a trickster-like aspect of your psyche, something that always leads a person into new challenges whether the ego wants to go or not.

The black color and the night as well as the color green likely suggest the overall earthy potential of learning through interaction with outer reality while the dark blue of his cloak could symbolize eventual meaning that could be derived from your overall life experiences.

One school of psychology calls this inner figure in a woman the “Animus”. In an undeveloped form, it tends to come out in a woman as an overall intellectual and opinionated stance that often disrupts relationships. When more developed, it is like a guide to the unconscious mind via thoughts and insights that provide deeper meaning to the woman’s life over time.

Assuming the cat is a female, it could symbolize your deepest feminine nature, loving but independent for example. The fact that it disappears into the black likely represents the chance that this part of you might become too unconscious and not part of your day to day life.

The result of this could by symbolized by your floating in the air, that is, perhaps there is some danger of your becoming overly “airy” and intellectual by falling too much under the spell of the magician and therefore not being “grounded” enough in your femininity-.

It’s possible that your white “pure” room could suggest an overly disconnected state from the earthier garden.

In this scenario, the distressed girl would then represent a part of you that tends to be cut off too much because of this separation from a more instinctive life.

The girl who is trapped in the red room might symbolize a certain “trap” that most women fall into, that is, always wanting to maintain a harmonious feeling atmosphere (red) at the cost of being more true to themselves and independent minded in a positive sense.

The store could symbolize something like the world of materialism in general that you may be desperate to be part of albeit mostly unconsciously. Again the idea of “night” points to being unconscious of something, so this issue of “wanting things” may largely be unseen by you at this time.

The old thief could symbolize something like an annoying murmur of thoughts that we all have such as “Why don’t you get a better job and stop looking so poor in comparison to others?” etc. etc.

Such “selfish” thoughts wouldn’t fit in with a view of yourself as an “unselfish person” overall, so they might tend to be immediately suppressed when they appear (fake call to the manager), but they aren’t really gone for good.

The concert/political demonstration image is likely looking at this problem of the “world” and materialism from another angle, adding the idea of the “collective” vs. the “individual”. It might be this basic conflict that you are trying to “hide” from overall.

However as mentioned, these ideas might not fit your personal situation very well if at all, but if you’d like to explore the idea of the Animus and the overall issue of what a woman can do to maintain her femininity while interacting with our mostly patriarchal society, many women find the approaches of analyst Marion Woodman to be helpful. Her books can be browsed on a site like amazon.com for example, and interviews with her etc. can be found at Marion Woodman Links

So overall, I think this dream is an important one for you that you should mull over quite a bit, and you may even find yourself coming back to it in the years to come.

You appear to have a couple of very good interpretations above so here's my slant on your dream. While helpfulness and sympathy and wishful thinking appear to be components the feature that leaps out is that of confusion and being trapped but it seems to be connected to either your social life or your professional life; it is not easy to be certain which. There seems to be an element of threat involved in which you may require guidance possibly legal advice. Whatever it is, the fear of exposure is high on your agenda and you are trying to avoid this. There seems to be a cocktail of feelings alternating between innocence (or morality) and sexual violence and that too of guilt. Would you perhaps be involved in narcotics in which the law officers are investigating?

You are not obliged to say anything...etc!
