Unhappy Recurring Dream theme

I've been having a recurring dream pattern for about 3 weeks now. Every dream I have remembered in this time period (and sometimes I remember 3-4 per night) involve either me being chased by "someone", or being escaping some sort of kidnapping/hostage situation.

The dreams where I'm being chased always feel negative. The people after me (it's normally multiple people hunting me "for" one person) seem to be faster, stronger, smarter, and more accurate for multiple weapons. Sometimes they're just chasing me, sometimes they're "coming after" my family and friends also. I never get caught, but I never escape either. I just continue running until I wake up.

The dreams where I am trying to escape are much happier. a lot of times I lead other people to an escape also, and no one ever gets hurt. Strangely, though, it's often members of my extended family that are doing the kidnapping.

Anyway, last night I had a very long dream. It started out with someone that was "out to get" my dad having someone kill my mom. That felt extremely real in and of itself, but then several 'days' later I was standing outside on a hill in a field with my dad, brother, sister, and paternal grandparents. Someone shot my grandparents and my brother, but from a long distance, like a sniper.

We went to their funeral a few days later, which also felt very real, and someone tried to shoot me and my sister (she's 4 years younger than me) from a car driving by. My dad and my aunt (both people I strongly look up to) made me and my sister go out to the woods with these strange blueprints of a house made of logs. He said (I specifically remember) that it would be "really hard to shoot through, so we should be safe." He also warned me not to trust anyone (I am normally a VERY trusting person), that it "could be anyone."

So my sister and I went out and built this tiny one-room house of logs, and at one point, I remember seeing someone on a bike ride by very quickly with flowers, and 6 motorcycles followed him, each one taking about 5-10 shots at our cabin. My sister got hit on the head by something bouncing off a teapot (or something similar), but otherwise no one got hurt.

After that, there was a series of short, chaotic scenes where we went places that should have been safe (church, school, etc...), but people that I knew and thought would help me kept giving us away or trying to hold us there. I woke up really stressed from running so much, really missing my family, and really angry at everyone.

Any ideas?

Hi,
If one dreamt he was running away means he will be forgiven or he will overcome the enemy.
Because Moses dreamt he was running away from Pharaoh and later he overcame the Pharaoh.
If one dreamt men were running away from women means he is afraid of a big man.
To run away if he didn't scream means happiness but if he screamed means a disaster is on the way.

If one dreamt he was a hostage or was kidnapped means he will keep away from a sin.
If dreamt his child or his wife was a hostage means someone will oppress him.
If dreamt someone was his hostage means that a person will need him.
Some interpreters say if he was a hostage means his belief is spoiled. The clothed one/38.

Interesting.... there is a lot going on there. Sounds like you may subconciously have some trust issues. As for the whole scenario....It sounds like some sort of family dispute/termoil. Maybe your sister and you are on the same side, but it sounds as though there may be a lot of disagreement among your family.

Could there be a main topic (amongst the family) that is causing this sort of dream?

That which chases you represents a kind of collective force of unresolved issues in your life.
The news is not too good. You feel as if you are being dismantled a piece at a time. It looks as if there is someone or something present in your life that is very threatening to your emotional wherewithall, (actually more than one thing that troubles you) and it is changing the person that you are inside. You are trying to disguise your waking life issues but it is not a good long term solution as we all must face reality weather we want to or not. Still you try to redraw (reinvent) the person that you are and you are being told that unless resolved your troubles will seek you out.
The over all message is very powerful and one that you should strongly pay attention to. You can run but you cannot hide. Your mind will find you and bother you until you start to resolve outstanding issues in your life. (there is no mention precisely as to what they are but I can tell that you are fully aware of them). You are at the boiling point and you need help! Your subconscious mind stands ready to rally to your aid but until you start the ball rolling the indication is that it can and will only make things worse for you.
In all reality it is time to acknowledge to yourself (outloud before sleeping) that you have problems and you are putting together a plan to address them. Welcome the help of your subconscious mind...it is your mentor and best friend but for now it will hound you until you start to take real action.
