Hi!
I just recently had a dream I need help with because I think it may mean somthing. Here is some backround information to help. I want to be a singer more than anything else in the world and I just moved to Oregon from L.A Califormia. I thought all of my hopes to make it big were ruined. Here it goes:

I was in a car with just my dad and we were just driving (in Oregon) around to get some fresh air. We came across a large hill.
"Whats on the other side of the hill?" I asked
"Nothing you need to be exposed to" he replied (in a oddly deep voice)
I asked again
"Okay, Hollywood is on the other side" He sighed
"Can we drive over" I asked getting exited.
"No, noone is allowed to go over or you will be killed" he explained calmly
"Why?"
"Olivia Clair DO NOT argue about this with me again" he yelled
(You should know that me and my dad get into fights about me becoming a singer ALL THE TIME)
Then some force was pulling us over the hill but now my dad didn't seem to mind he just was smilling and said "Youll be fine"
Then I was alone on the top of the hill looking at hollywood in front of me. I look over to my um...right!!! (Srry I am tyring to remember) And saw the hollywood sign. I tried to run down but I couldn't. I was forcing myself to go down but I couldn't. I wanted to go down SOOOO bad but somthing unknown was stopping me.

I woke up in a sweat.

Your dad is apprehensive about your choice of careers. He does not want to see you get hurt in the process of trying to "make it" as a singer. His concern is not meant to keep you from success or to hurt you in any way and now you know it to be genuine concern for your well being. You in reality have sensed this and have developed some apprehension about your choice.
You are seeing it his way but you hope and dream for success in this field.

My suggestion to you is to have the heart to follow your dreams, BUT, be sure to know if you have potential before you pursue a dream that might not be attainable. If you have what it takes, relentlessly rehearse, gain knowledge, and always work with a contract (never on someones word). There is much to know about the industry that you seek to make your way into...Remember that it is a business first, so treat it as such. By getting good information and mentorship (coupled with an excellent gift of voice) you can minimize your risks and gain a better advantage that will allow you to rise to the top.
I speak from experience...this industry is not for the faint of heart but there are great rewards in store if you have what it takes, and you get good information and representation.

Be sure to tell your dad that you understand that he loves you and if you feel you have what it takes...educate yourself first, then go for your dreams in a methodical manner, and ask for him for emotional support.

I think the dream means that you are curious about what Hollywood or being a singer would be like...what will it be when you get there, what are the dangers of being there, or the struggles of being there. your father might be a protective figure in your life, he doesnt really want you to chase a dream, but go to school or do something more practical, but if by some chance that reality came true, he would support you. you not being able to go down the hill to hollywood means , hollywood is your dream but you dont believe it will really happen or it is unattainable by practical terms.

Well you have given enough information to help interpret the dream. Dreams symbolise our very thoughts. They capture and clarify exactly how we feel right now. Perhaps you think this now

"I have moved back to oregon and I know that this is not good for my singing career. I want this so desperately... I am drawn to it. Yet I know that this move back to oregon is best for the moment "

So how could this dream link to the above sets of feelings. Well in the dream you are obvioudly drawn to the hollywood. yet you know instinctively that its not best to go there now.

Actually most dreams say more about how you felt yesterday. Occasionally they can be premonitions or telepathy. But post work on processing the inner thoughts inside us

It is important that you honor your father. I think the LORD is upholding your father's words and you should obey him. There are many dreams and visions of L.A. (Hollywood) getting nuked. Stay home and stay away from there! You will be safe to the degree that you honor your father. You still may become a singer but not as you expect.
