DREAM #1
I couldn't sleep in my dream and woke up in the middle of the night. The room was dark but there was a night light somewhere that produced a dim light that illuminated the room slightly (the room and the objects in it seemed familiar to me, but I know now they were not). I looked around the room and decided I wanted to get up for a bit (to be able to fall asleep again, when I noticed a large framed mirror hanging on the wall.

At the same time I realized I was talking on the phone while I was also lying down on my back. I turned my face towards the wall and saw a plant pot resting on the floor in the shape of a flat "nopal cactus" that was made out of brown/orange clay. The upper parts of the "plant" were removable and had a small "hole" on them to put some plant soil. My hand reached to grab it when a loud noise interrupted me ( I could only see the end of my arms reaching as when one would look at something from the perspective of the eye; similar to holding a video camera and filming your arm as it grabs something).

I looked towards the upper portion of the wall saw the framed mirror again. At the bottom of it there was a container for a plant which had several green plants growing in it. Some of the plants were similar to a jade tree or another "succulent" plant. I realized that it was overgrown and needed water (I thought of re-planting it soon). As I got up and walked towards the wall I noticed a small table next to it. At the same time, a small object that was on the top of the table and was moving, caught my eye. It was a small object, the size of a coin. When I grabbed it I realized it was a small frog (I felt its slimy back) that had escaped from its terrarium long time ago and I which I tough had died. I picked it up and the slimy back made me realize that she was alive and well I became happy. I thought of making a new terrarium the following morning to put the frog in it. In the meantime I was going to put the frog inside a glass container or a plant pot.

I remember talking to a relative that may have been in the room. I believe it was my mother (who is alive and well presently, and visiting me with my dad). I was holding the frog inside my hand while I looked for a container. At the same time I was talking, and was ready to place the frog in a container I realized it had escaped out of my closed hand. I was puzzled by it, since I never opened my hand. I began looking for the frog under the bed and other pieces of furniture in the room. I thought I had stepped on it by mistake and was upset as I felt sad for having killed it after it had survived for such a long period of time without food or water. Suddenly I saw the small coin-size small object (the small green frog) on the floor which I grabbed, placed it on the palm of my hand and gently rolled my fingers over it to hold it.

My joy turned to being puzzled again, as I opened my hand, and realized and felt that the object in it was not the small live frog of a few seconds earlier, but a green clay frog. As I closed my eyes now to remember the image, I had "flashbacks" of talking to someone as if in a dream; but I cannot recall the conversation, only that the person talking to me was trying to give me some sort of advice (perhaps how to handle the small green frog).

DREAM #2

I was dreaming of receiving a phone call in the early hours of the morning (3:00 - 4:00AM). I let the answering machine pick up, however, I ran to the phone to answer it. There was a female voice that I never heard before saying that her name was "Blanca", a friend of a friend and that she had a hundred dollars to pay me back what my friend owed me. I was hesitant at first, but agreed to meet her. When I suggested we could meet by my house she began laughing with a creepy laugh, her voice changed (as if she or he had been using a digital voice changing device) and said something to the effect of "you'll see" and hung up. I was a bit scared in the dream and woke up feeling the same way. END OF DREAMS 1 & 2

After I had this dream(s) I felt somewhat uneasy, almost like the feeling one would get after a nightmare. It is interesting, since I almost never have "bad" dreams or nightmares that provoke a sensation of fear. However, this time it was different. I get the sensation that something "bad" was lurking in my room. As I am typing this right now, I cannot help but to be a bit jumpy (every noise from upstairs or the sound of my cat toying with a piece of paper make me stop for a moment). I live by myself and I hardly get nervous or have a feeling of fear. I do suffer from depression after my life partner of 20 years passed away almost a year ago, however I know the difference between anxiety/drepression and fear.

Would any of these images be related to my partner's untimely death?, was there something evil in my room (that's the best way i can describe it and the one I feel closest to what I experienced), was this just an unconsciouss lapse of anxiety; or was it just a bad dream? I really would like to know since although I often have lucid dreams, I seldom write them down ( this one I felt compelled to write down).

Thank you for any help.

Hector

Interesting and surreal; it sounds as if you indeed had a lucid dream. Your dream also suggests that your vocation (or avocation) may be in one of the fields of biology. When you used the term terrarium it made me wonder if you intended it to mean vivarium?

Dream #1 would tend to indicate that you are currently in the process of searching for an answer or that you are involved in research to which the answer you are seeking is proving to be elusive; on each occasion when you feel that you have almost cracked the enigma it turns out to be another false dawn.

The only thing that I can decipher from dream #2 is that you received a proposition about which you feel or felt uncomfotable.

Had you not added additional information about your recent circumstance then this is how I would have left those readings but in view of what you have added I would suspect that dream #2 may have some connection to an underlying fear probably of loneliness while the penultimate paragraph to dream #1 has reflections, not solely of loss but as to its reason why. Those dreams also made me wonder how close is it to the anniversary of your partner's passing. You certainly are still in grief and in shock.
