This is a recurring type dream of having a full bladder in my sleep. The interesting part is how vivid and detailed it is as well as finding out my Mom had the exact same dream. When I told her about it, she finished it for me.
I am in a high school gymnasium that has been converted to a locker/shower room. It is badly lit and badly constructed. The place is smelly, moldy and planned out like a maze. Everything is so dirty that I don't want to touch it. It is so badly laid out and in such disrepair that there is also no privacy. I wander around for a long time looking for an appropriate place to uh...do what I came in there to do. As I wander I meet/startle other people trying to do the same thing. As I am waking up, I float above the temporary walls and have a view of the entire room. Then I fly down a long hall to windowed, double doors which have been chained and padlocked from the inside. Then I wake up. My Mom finished the dream for me at the point where I started to float. She also described the detail, lighting, layout, types of fixtures, and meeting some of the people. None of which we recognised. What does it mean to share a dream? |

HI,
It can happen if 2 people have an especially close bond. It sounds like the dream is full of anxiety. Needing to relieve yourself in a dream can mean a couple of things that I've experienced: 1. You really NEED to go, and it's your body's way of waking you up (Happens to me on occasion!) 2. You need to "relieve" some pent up feelings. You really want to tell someone (your mother, most likely, since you shared the dream). There may be an issue between you two that you need to get out in the open. The dirty, confusing setting in the dream may mean that the problem you are facing may get ugly. You are afraid, and don't want to touch it, but you must face it. The people in the dream are startled. Maybe the isuue may surprise some people in real life. WHat strikes me, is that both you and your mom had the same dream. I owuld take it seriously, and find out what is bothering her. It may make you closer in the end. I wish you peace, Bright Dreamer |

well dreams have many meanings. But its fairly obvious that this is a shared dream. But was this shared at the same time. If so thats possibly a case of telepathy. I have experienced premonitions myself. Although I have no wide experience of telepathy its something that I would not dismiss.
But what does the dream mean. Well I would not dismiss a literal explanation. The gym may link to a need to exercise and keep fit. -------------------------------------------------- My own fascination in dreams is with how they capture our own thoughts. In the english language we say things like "I felt really threatened and targeted when my boss concentrated on my own individual faults". Yet how does the dream mind communicate such ideas. Actually understanding dreams is not so difficult. Dreams often relate to intuitions and dilemmas and even paranoias that are on our minds. Many many dreams(not all) have connections with the previous day. So just spot the issues on your mind. Then see how the mind translates these concepts into dream language. So if the previous day had featured a situation with your boss where "I felt really threatened and targeted when my boss concentrated on my own individual faults" then look to see how that dream could be translated into a dream. If yoiur boss features in that dream then we have a strong connection. If some bad emotions feature in the dream then thats another clue. Try to link any symbols and there possible meanings to the real life issue. If for instance the dream featured a gun then this could symbolise the way you felt targeted in real life by your boss. Many pages on my own website try to show how real life thoughts are translated into dream symbols. But what does the dream mean. Well I would not dismiss a literal explanation. The gym may link to a need to exercise and keep fit. ------------------------ The dreams we have are very much related to the brain and how it devotes time to the pressing needs in our lives. The dream mind can decide to try to look at the bigger picture. In other words we may suddenly stand back and take a good long look at our lives. We may ask what is the point of carrying on with a job that we hate or a relationship that is falling apart. So in that way the intuitive mind may decide to take an objective look at the reality of our lives. At other times the dream mind will be content to get caught up in the little issues in our lives. It may wonder if we should get ourselves a new hair cut or if we should decide to get a new digital TV. So the dreams we have will sometimes reflect the bigger and important long view but also expect them to get caught up in the seemingly mundane issues of everyday life. Try to see what type of a mood you are in. If you suddenly feel as if you are thinking more in the long term then look at your dreams in that way. They are likely to link to general issues and about the bigger picture and how you live your life. They may reflect your own personality and some changes that you are trying to bring about. Bright Dreamer,
I honestly did not bring that to this dream, but you are right. My Mom and I have issues about things that happened during my childhood that people would be surprised about. we don't discuss it. When I have tried, she can't acknowledge it, so I have forgiven her for my own sanity. What's done is done. When I had this dream, I was still a teenager and I think she had the dream not too long before I did. Uncle Sir Bobby, I am a obese and unhealthy adult, thanks in part to my upbringing. Bad diet and no exercise has made me heavy and uncomfortable with myself all my life. I blame my Mom for that, and there is more to it than ignorance or neglect. Thank you both for your insight and interpretations. I appreciate the time you have taken for me. Technicolor |

Hi technicolor,
I'm glad to help. I think it's neat how both of us who replied saw 2 different things, but both ideas were helpful to you. I wish you luck on your journey to healing. Peace, Bright Dreamer |
