Default Husband eaten alive....

Okay, this one is a weird one, but I havn't been this freaked out from a dream in a long time. Very detailed. The scary part is the end.

The dream starts with us driving. At first I don't know where we're going, but then I realize Justin recieved orders. We're on our way to a new Air Force base. {From the nature of this dream, I'm guessing the new location is somewhere down south.} It's mid-day and very hot out. I'm wondering why the air conditioner isn't on. It's not broken. Instead we have all the windows rolled down. I notice the road we're on isn't busy. Very few cars. I like that. I feel more comfortable. Enough even to let my feet hang out the window.

As we're driving, we keep seeing these pieces of wood along side the road. Very beautiful wood I might add. So many different sizes and colors. All smooth finish as if someone hand carved them and threw one out every 50 feet or so. I get it into my head that it would be nice to have some of these pieces for decoration in our yard. So Justin suggests stopping on the side of the road to pick up a few. I'm nervous. We havn't seen anyone else stop to pick up these pieces of wood. What if we're not supposed to? I decide we should continue on to the base. We're only a couple of miles away. We can go back out later and pick some up when it's not so hot.

We're almost to the base. As we come up over the last hill we can see it. It's different. There are many more guards there than we have ever seen at previous locations. A huge stone wall surrounds the whole base with little windows cut out up high. For viewing I'm guessing. Viewing what though? On the right of us we see a pond/lake thing. That must be what the windows in the wall are for.

At that exact moment our daughter Chelsie has to use the restroom. We know it would take to long at the gate resulting in an accident. Lucky for us a sign pops up. Rest area next right. So we take the next right which happens to be the very road right before you enter the base. As we're rounding the curve of the pond/lake thing, we see a small area sectioned off for swimming. There are lots of people in the water, but no parked cars anywhere. Odd.

Justin parks the car then takes Chelsie to the restroom. I clean out the car, getting rid of any garbage there may be. Now Justin and Chelsie are back. That was quick. As I'm throwing a bag away I see one of those pieces of wood by the trash can. So I put it in the back of the car. Justin kind of gets on my case about it. He says "Why don't we cross the lake and pick up that really nice one we saw on the other side?" Other people are in the water so it must not be a big deal. And off we go.

The water is only knee deep. No where's deep enough to submerge your whole body. I can't help wondering how people are supposed to swim in such shallow water. This pond/lake thing isn't very wide either. Maybe only 30 feet. It's long though. Very long. Almost like a shallow canal. The water is so dark you can't see your hand just inches under the water. Justin's first to reach the other side. He heads for the piece of wood. Chelsie and I get up on the bank and I imediately get this sinking feeling. Someone's watching me. I turn to my right and only 5 feet away is this HUGE crocodile completely hidden by a large log.

I start screaming at Justin. He runs back to where we are. I tell him I'm taking Chelsie back to the car. There's only one way back. Through the water. The road is right there but it's too high and we can't reach it. He tells me he's going for the wood and he'll be right behind us. Why does he need the wood? I'm arguing with him. Telling him to forget about it. But he's stubborn. He takes off for the piece of wood. I start to head back towards the car. I only get three or four feet when I see all these heads pop out of the water. I turn to head back towards Justin but there are crocs behind me too. I'm stuck. I'm trying to find a way out.

Over to my left I see the swimming area. There are very few crocs over there. I figure it's our best shot at survival. So I grab this huge washed up stick by my feet and start that way. I put Chelsie on my back so I can have two free hands and not worry about her as much. We're almost to the swimming are when two huge crocs come right up to us. I'm screaming at them and hitting them away with the stick. They leave us alone but not after taking a taste of my right leg. As Chelsie and I get up on the beach I notice that all the guards are running out with these huge guns and ushering people out of the water.

At that same time I hear Justin screaming. I turn around and he's surrounded in the water by crocodiles. The first thing I wonder is why did he go that way...he headed for the car instead of following me. He's hitting at the crocs with these sticks. They're biting at him. He's covered in blood. Justin was wearing a purple shirt, but you wouldn't know it by looking at him now. He's almost to the car. I think he's going to make it, but the crocs aren't backing off. I pick up Chelsie and start running. My leg hurts like hell and it's bleeding badly. That's not going to stop me. I need to help Justin. The guards are right behind me. But they're not fast enough.

I can hear Justin screaming. It's a long way to the car from here. Finally I come around the last corner.....I see him being tossed in the air by this monstrous crocodile. The croc swallows Justin up to his mid-thigh and is "chewing" on him. He's screaming so loud and hitting the croc in the eyes and on the nose. He's being tossed around like a rag doll. Two other crocs are taking bites out of him as he's being tossed their way.

Somehow I make it around the crocodiles and to the Buick. I put Chelsie inside and grab the shot gun from the trunk. {I hate guns by the way and am too scared to even touch them.} I shoot the big croc. He lets Justin go, but doesn't stop biting at him. I shoot again. Now one of the other crocs is heading towards me. The guards finally arrive. They're shooting everything that moves. The two smaller crocs flee for the water. The bigger one too flees, but refuses to give up Justin. He's dragging Jusitn into the water. The guards continue to shoot this monster, so do I. He's not letting go. One of the guards has a huge knife. He runs up to the the croc and starts slashing at it. The croc finally lets Justin go. He's not moving. There's blood everywhere. The once green grass shines bright red. I fear that he's dead. There's bite marks all over his body. At this point I realize I'm dreaming and I'm screaming at myself to wake up. One of the guards walks over to Justin's body to take a pulse. I'm still telling myslef to wake up. He looks at me, but before he can tell me whether Justin's dead or alive, I wake up.

I litterally jumped out of bed. My heart was beating so hard and I was close to tears. For the next hour or so I couldn't get back to sleep. Everytime I closed my eyes I could see Justin being swallowed by that crocodile. I kept reaching over to see if he was still breathing. I've never dreamt of anything like this before. I havn't watched or seen anything with crocodiles or alligators for over a week. Why crocodiles?

This dream really scared me. I don't know what it means or why I needed to dream it. I know our mind gives us dreams to work through daily stuggles. But I just don't understand. Please help. Anyone.....I get scared evertime Justin leaves the house now. I'm afraid he wont make it back.

well do you get sick of him being posted. the dream maybe about the way you see things. Guys get posted and suddenly all a whole load of bad studff happens. Dreams can reflect these temporary mood swings. Its like our own inner voice.. a conversation with ourselves... saying "here we go agin. I bet a whole load of bad stuff follows."

Dreams are about how we feel. They are not about facts and reality. The two are seperate.

Its amazing how good the TV reality show Big Brother is in understanding dreams. Occasionally contestants discuss their dreams. The cause of dreams is usually hidden in the events and feelings from the day before. The show itself highlights any pyschological changes within the contestants. They pick up on little changes in behavior and they interview the contestants on a daily basis. Dreams tend to symbolise new thoughts and feelings. They may link to some new thought being clarified within the dreamers mind. The whole days activity is crammed into a one hour show at night and so any changes in the contestants are neatly cut into sound bite size. The meaning of any one dream could even be traced back to one TV clip where a contestant actually says what is on their mind. They cannot hide from the cameras. The inner workings of their mind are on total view. Even the slightest smile or frown is picked up.

Actually no. We made the decision over a year ago to transfer from Montana. We weren't counting on moving to Texas, but that's where we ended up. Only six months later we recieved unexpected orders to Turkey and were both excited. Those orders were canceled only a week before our scheduled move because of the current situation in Turkey. Since our move to Texas our lives have been turned upside down. We've had a very unlucky year here and wish more than anything else to return home or move somewhere else closer to home. We wish everyday that Justin would recieve orders, but were informed that we'll more than likely be here for a long time. The area Justin works in is undermanned and they aren't willing to let him leave volunatarily. I'm sorry, no, I don't get sick of moving around. We've only moved once and want more than anything to move again. I think this dream might be about something else. Thank you for your opinion though. It makes sense, but just not in this case. :-)
