Default Reacurring Nightmare Update: To The Stairs

Okay, so I just woke up from a very brief sleep. I'm actually amazed I dreamt about it, as usually it wont happen if I'm not deep in sleep for a long time, but anyhow, for those who've read, It was suggested to me that I try and go up the stairs instead of leaving with my friend. In my dream I tried this, the, result was a bit frightening, enough to jar me from my sleep, but also get me very interested and frightened. To repost my dream to the point of where it changes...

It's always the same. I'm standing on a street. The same street that leads to my house. It's light outside, but I know it's night time. All over there street is broken shards of glass, and all around me are rain drops, frozen in their place. I'm walking, pushing a baby carriage, But I can't see the baby inside. I know I'm not wearing any shoes, and that my feet should be getting cut up by the glass, but I am unharmed. I walk into my house, but it is not mine, it's the house of my cousins when I was little. I don't have the baby carriage anymore, but I can hear a child crying. I run up the stairs, at first in my dreams I would step on the third step and it would disappear and I would fall, but now in my dreams I always jump over it and keep running. I reach the top, but I can't tell where the babies cry is coming from I run into the bedroom, it's decorated as a nursery, but there is no baby, I run into the bathroom, and there is a little boy, he's drowning in the bathtub, I try and grab him, but I can't see him clearly, I can't find him, finally I grab a hold of him, but when I pull him out, he is dead. I go to hold him, but he is gone, and I'm no longer in the bathroom, I'm sitting in the living room on my knees, I know I need to go back upstairs, I know that it's really important, but my friend Elli keeps telling me I need to come with her... This is where I attempted to change it. I told her, I would not go, that I had to go upstairs. At first she seemed accepting of this, but as I turned to go towards the stairs, she changed, into a snake (I think) Im not sure exactly what she was but, I kept thinking she was a snake, but looked very odd, I was staring at her for a very long time before she lunged at me, and tried to bite me. I was so scared I ran for the stairs, I didn't jump over the third one, but it did not sink in like it did in my old dreams at the beginning. Anyhow, the stairs seemed to take forever to climb, winding and twisting even though before they were only about 20 of them. When I reached the top, I saw he baby, only he was not a baby, he was a boy, maybe about five, six years old? He had curly black hair and his clothes were really faded. I grabbed onto his shoulders, I wanted to tell him to run, to run from the snake that was coming, I tried to turn him around, but with every turn his back was always facing me, as if he had no front at all, I turned to see if the snake was coming, but she wasn't, I looked back to the boy, but he was not there, instead it was the snake, she went to bite my face, but before she did I woke up.

PS. For anyone curious Elli was a friend I met in the fourth grade and new until about my freshman year of H.S. when her father died of cancer and she had to move away to live with her drunk and drug addicted mother.

Your dreams are about what is happening to you in your own sleep. You say you just woke up from a brief sleep! Where did you have this brief sleep? in what position did you go to sleep? Many bad dreams happen in brief sleeps or short naps. The reason is that you probably go to sleep in sitting position, or lying on your back in an uncomfortable position. Soon after you go to sleep breathing becomes difficult and if someone were watching you, they would see you breathing heavy, gasping for air or snorring. Every so often you would try to move and struggle. Your subconscious mind associate your breathlessness with climbing a long flight of stairs. Finally the snake attack makes you struggle more, try to turn around, and finally wake you up. All the time your subconscious is putting strange ideas into your head to keep your attention. The problem is worse if you are overweight.
In reality your dreams mean nothing much apart from looking after you.
Cheers Wolfjk
