I have many dreams, I normally log them into my computer for they are my inspiration for my animations that I make. I normally right them down the next day in case I need some ideas for the future. They always are vivid. I could paint out, and normally do, scenes or characters from my dreams. No matter how vivid they are or how graphic they are, my dreams never terrify me. I've even had some dreams where Zombies were eating my brains and I was not the least bit afraid, because I view my dreams as free entertainment as you wait for the next day to come. So none of my dreams wake me up in a cold sweat.
Except one. It's always the same, I'm crouched over holding my sisters dead body, screaming her name. It was always a different but horrific death. Sometimes her skin is chard and burned, other times she has a massive, bleeding head trama, onetime I was just covered in her entrails after a bomb went off. But it always ends the same, waking up in a cold sweat. It was my worst nightmare. The only dream that disturbs me. My mother and I talked about our worst nightmares back in October. Her answer was if she ever lost my sister or me, her only children. My answer was if I ever lost my best friend, my sister. One day when we were just hanging out together I talked to my sister about this nightmare, she said, "Wow, thats really messed up. Don't worry about it, its only a dream." She was right, Its only a dream. I normally never give my dreams a second thought after I write them down. After all, dreams are only free entertainment as you wait for the next day to come. Then it happened. On December 26th 2008 at 12:50 pm, my sisters car was hit from behind by a semi while she was heading back down to her apartment at ISU after spending Christmas with me. She was stopped in traffic because of construction when the driver of the semi fell asleep at the wheel. The fire burned for three hours. Officials didn't bother removing the body from the car at the scene, they draped a tarp over it and took it to another location so they could identify the body through the use of dental records. I never got to hold her as I screamed her name that night. I never got to see her again for one last goodbye for there was no casket at the funeral. I had always look forward to the day when she would bring her kids over to "Uncle Pete's" house and we would all sit down and watch Little mermaid. I always dreamed of what her wedding night would be, me and her sharing a dance together. Her and I were the closest you could ever get to each other. We would call each other if we were having a bad day or just missed each other. I always got really exited when I would get the chance to see her again and you could tell she was exited too. We never fought about anything. We were the two perfect peas in a worlds most perfect pod. I recently had the most wonderful dream that I have ever had. About a week ago my sister was there. I said, "Oh my god! Caryn! What's Heven like?!" She said that it was the most wonderful place she ever been. Every day she gets to live a complete life, from birth to death. And every life was completely different, and every day was absolutely wonderful. The rest of the dream we just sat and hugged each other. She always wanted to be a character in one of my animations. Its my promise to her. Last edited by Peter_C : 01-20-2008 at 08:44 PM. |

Peter I am really sorry for your loss. May I suggest that the nightmares may have had two functions?
1) prepare you 2) remind you of your love for your sister - which may have aided in you two being so close..... |

Hi,
Once in a short dream at noon I dreamt I was running to the door screaming my son's name, Sina ,then the same day a bus nearly ran over him and people took him to the sidewalk. Of course when I woke up , I ran to the street and found a needy man And helped for good.
