I had this recurring dream roughly 25-30 years ago for about 4-5 years.
I found myself playing with another child in a dark area. I remember being the one who was always visiting. The boy looked normal like any other boy child. And we would play like any other 8 year old boys would play. Whenever it was time for me to go, I would ask him why he could'nt come with me, he would always tell me that he was'nt allowed to because he could'nt leave where we were(which I assumed was Hell). He was born here. And he would always become sad when I would leave. |

Having spirit children or fictional children to play with is a natural phenomenon for infants and it made me wonder if there could be a connection; alternatively, as many dreams are compensatory could it have been filling in the blank spaces in your childhood friendships?

well a dream like this will probably just lkink to the normal learning processes. Children learn behavior and then they learn the reasons behaind. it Emotions and behavior are actually quite complex. Explaining trust, loyalty, freindship and such things are iuncredibly difficult. There are so many things to learn.
I think its necessary to take a step sideways. In this dream you assume that the child is unhappy. That things will be much worse when you leave. Many children are very selfish and think of themselves as the centre of the world. They try to convoince their moms that such and such a thing is needed. Yet that could be totally wrong. Its easy to interpretr a dream wrongly. They areb just metaphors and badly expressed metaphors. at least poets try to make clear their metaphors. Dreams often do not try at all ------------------------ Often one symbol in a dream will seemingly have no relationship to any other. Totally bizarre things happen and there seems to be no sense to the dreams meaning. Thats because some symbols have a very cryptic meaning. A parachute may simply express the need to escape from a very difficult relationship. The need to land safely is a direct comparison to the need to land safely in an emotional sense. Yet within the context of the dream it makes no sense. It seems confusing and funny when we describe a moment when our granny gets hit by a parachutist. But dreams are like that. One portion of the dream makes no real sense within the story of the dream. Yet its meaning is there. The trick is to weave together various symbols. So see how that parachutist links within your own real life thoughts. So if you woke up that morning and felt "Yesterday I started to realise that I need to get out of my relationship with my boyfriend. He is being totally abusive. Right now I just need to escape with as little fuss as possible". Its likely that this dream about a parachutist is directly linked to those real life thoughts. Then start to piece together a wider meaning to the dream. Look at the possible symbolic meanings to the other symbols and try to see what the dream is saying overall.
