Hello,
I recently had this strange dream and I would like some other thoughts about what it may mean. I was at the house i grew up in, but in the dream it was my ex husbands house. I was outside, trying to sleep. It was dark. All of a sudden, I hear this dog barking and snarling at me, it is coming for me. (where i live now, there is this black lab that sometimes comes in our yard at night. i have encountered this dog on several occasions when i step outside at night. the dog always barks and snarls at me) Anyways, in the dream, i am frightened. I start floating above the ground, laying on back. trying to hide. i stay still while floating. i cannot see anything because it is dark. I can hear the dog running and panting as it comes for me. When he gets right up next to me (or under me) the dog says "where are you bitch" i feel very scared and threatened. however the dog doesnt find me, and goes on his way. He crosses a ditch where he climbs out, in human form. i can also here him talking, while he is wandering away. any thoughts on this dream would be very appreciated, as i have never had dreamt of a talking animal. thanks |

Hi,
In dream language animals are symbols for people as their charactristics are. A dog means a kind enemy or someone who doesn't act on what he knows or says.If a dog barked on you means such a people will tell you rude words. Floating in the air means changing the situation.

Well its a dream linked to your ex. Thats a negative relationship. Its probably linking to bad memories and negatives views about men. Dreams are like conversations with yourself. So all those similar bad thoughts you have would be associated with this .. woemn talking and bad moutinhing men.. watching a man talk negatively about women whilst in some tv program or soap opera. Dreams are about these little things and the thoughts that they evoke in us.
The dream mind compares all things that are similar. here it links together various things Exhusband - nasty dogs - men disrespecting women - your freinds ex boyfriend Here you cannot seem to escape all these negative vibes about him. However who knows the dream could be linked simply to this labrador. Did you encounter it the night before the dream.. or merely think abbout it. What negative eotiobns linked to boyfgriends,ex husbands can you associate with the day before. Its likely that this is the trigger of the dream ------------------------ If a dream features someone you know who is important to you then start out seeing if the dream is about them. The dream maybe a clarification of how you feel about them and your relationship with them. Dreams represent our thoughts and thoughts that we should be able to recognise. Try writing down some quotes that capture the current state of your feelings about them eg "My friend is not being as supportive as I she could be". Then try to see how the symbols could work. Negative symbols and bad feelings in the dream may represent bad feelings in real life or present difficulties. Many dreams about close friends, fiances, boyfriends and close family members will be about them and will represent new feelings. So try to spot ways in which new feelings are developing. It could be you are reacting to some incident the day before. Or it could be that some pattern is building up and finally you have changed your mind on them. But as we go through life we constantly assess and reassess how our relationships are progressing. Dreams are part of the way the brain monitors our own emotions. They maybe hidden in code but they truly can represent the very latest changes in your feelings. But having said that any person can appear in a dream and that dream may not be about that person.
