My house is demolished....

For years I have had dreams about a house I once owned. Sometimes I am with my family, sometimes by myself and sometimes with the present owners of the house. The setting is always the same in my dreams, the house is small like it was years ago when it was first built. (In real life, the house has been built upon and improved both by me before I sold it and by the present owners. My family were the first owners.) In my dream, night before last, I travelled to the house with my son. The house was demolished, just a small pile of rubble remained. My neighbors told me that the place had recently been torn down. The owners were not there, no one knew where they were or why the house was demolished. There was a lot of construction, new houses, new roads, more traffic, etc. As I was leaving with my son, I told him that there was no reason for us to be there and we would not be coming back. I wasn't terribly sad, just a little sad that it was gone and there was no reason for us to return there again.

Do I have any reason to feel concerned for myself, since houses in dreams often mean ones self? Should I be concerned for the new owners? I've gotten to know them quite well since the sale and I am fond of them.
Any ideas?

ps: In real life, the house is still standing and the present owners are still there.

Most probably someone you loved at that time of the house residence is monetary demolished or perhaps is ill.

Thank you for your reply. Although I find it troubling to me, your analysis of my situation seems to be correct. My son, who appeared in my dream as a child of ten or so (he lived in the house from the age of nine) is now an adult. He and his wife have suffered a devastating loss of financial assets and their home. First, his wife lost her job and was unable to find another. They could not meet their expenses and as a result, had to sell their home at a loss. Then in July 2007, the company my son worked for transferred and moved him and his family 1200 miles away. They had hopes for a better life. His wife managed to find a part time job. Just when they were feeling that things were going to be all right, the company he worked for suffered major losses due to the California housing industry setbacks and he was laid off. They closed the office that he was transferred to. He was an employee of some value, as he was one of the last to go. He was offered a transfer back to another office, but he could not afford the moving expenses and as a result, he could not take the offer. He has found another job (with good future prospects), but at a reduced salary. He is not well, he has had two heart procedures and now has even more serious health issues. I am so very concerned for him, for his wife and for their two little girls (ages nine and ten). They are so far away from their families and friends. I am at a loss as to how to help them, other than financially if I am able. I will do whatever is needed. Perhaps this dream was to prepare me for some things to come. I still hope and pray for the best. Right now that is all I can do.....

Dear Varzandeh, Thank you for the lovely prayer. I will use it, I am a firm believer in sincere prayer. I am confident that prayers are answered, although we don't always recognize that we are given all that we need, not always what we want.
I heard from my daughter-in-law last evening. She is feeling more positive in their situation. She begins pharmacy training tomorrow and will be working part time and going to school until she graduates in the summer. Although my son is not yet making much money, he is much happier in his new position than he was in his last. There is much less stress for him. Much of his illness is related to stress. He will also be taking some courses to bring him up to speed on the newest technology in his field (architectural engineering).
