some thoughts on a dream

I am looking for some outside thoughts on a dream... two actually. The first is the dream I had, out of the blue, of a person I had not seen in over 20 years. I thought it was kind of funny, so I emailed him about it via a blogsite we are both on and recently reconnected on. He emailed me back immediately with an interesting response. Here is a brief outline of the discussion.
Me:
Hey, long time to see! Had the CRAZIEST dream and had to tell you! You'll get a laugh out of this!
I don't know where we were exactly, and the timelines were all blurred, so stuff from life now was mixed up with stuff from back in the day, that sort of dream weirdness.. anyhow, we all lived in these closets, and you lived a couple closets down. We were both young again, like when we first met.
We started... um.. well, necking for lack of a better word, but knew it was wrong, we were both in relationships, so as we had to stop you decided to bite my neck, which you proceeded to do, (I won't even tell you how exceedingly erotic that was) apparently to give evidence to your/our frustration. Now here is the weird part: the bite, which obviously showed as you were biting with rather a lot of passion, turned into this marking on my arm, shoulder level, like a tattoo, but made up of perfectly round puncture marks, in the shape of two interlocking C's. CA might have made sense, but CC? Perhaps they just flowed better. You disappeared but obviously "left your mark."
How crazy and out of the blue is that?

Ok this is just too strange... you may want to take a few deep breaths. 3 nights ago i had a weird dream about you and i and we lived 3 houses apart. one night i was sitting outside in the summer and you came to my place to talk about something, I don't know what it was but it doesn't matter. for some reason we went for a walk and ended up making out and i bit you in the heat of the moment and you did the same. the strange thing is i woke up in the mornning and i had a light red mark on my chest were you bit me in my dream. I think I will go lay down now because this is just too weird.

Now I am sure some of you will think he is just playing games, which of course at first I did as well, until further questions from me returned answers from him that cannot be explained except that the dreams were essentially the same. We are playing around with the concept that we perhaps knew one another in previous lives.
any thoughts?

Hi,
You had sex means you or he will do the other a favor a help, but biting means causing a hurt or a money loss.Neck means the place for debts and head means your capital money.
Chest is the place for religion and belief.

but in the dream, the bite was not negative... I welcomed it. is it possible that there is more than one way to interpret the biting action?

Hi,
f one dreamt someone bit him means he will have a loss as much as the biting was sever.
If dreamt an ass bit him means his business will decrease.
If dreamt a cow bit him means a year of pain and suffering.
If a dog bit him means someone won't pay his money.
If a snake bit him means some enmity is on the way.
Biting may also mean :1- fight and quarrel 2- hurt and loss 3- enmity 4- decreasing money.
Both of you have dreamt that for humor you will tease each other for money.

hmm... yeah, thanks, but that sounds more like something directly out of a formula book.... not something truly considered as an individual dream... while I think there are many symbols that are connected to the same interpretation, I do not believe that all symbols mean the same thing in all dreams. That is just too much of a pigeonhole. There were no cats or dogs or birds or anything like that. Just two people having extremely similar dreams despite years and miles of separation.
That is the more interesting point in my thoughts. It is less about the bite than it is about the connectivity.
What does it mean when two people have essentially the same dream, hundreds of miles apart and after over 20 years of no contact?
I think there are a great many possibilities, including the potential for coincidence, but more than that, I think it may signal a connection that transcends what registers on our conscious radar.

Yes you are right...this dream is quite significant...just a quick question before I share some thoughts....what kind of relationship did you two have 20yrs ago, just friends?, dated?, etc.

ok, I will try to keep this succinct, but there are a couple of details that might be of interest.
When we knew each other 23 years ago (ish) we met through my best friend, who remains my best friend to this day.
We both recall what we felt when we saw each other the first time, which was a... well.. connection... but we were teenagers after all, so who knows.
the strange thing is, we met one night, me sneaking out of my house and running down the hill to where he was parked, and we sat in his car for an indeterminate length of time.. I recall it was very dark, sitting sort of across his lap with his arms around me, lighting a cigarette from the wrong end, his eyes, lots of seemingly insignificant details, and he recalls mainly tactile images, that my skin was soft, the fragrance I was wearing. We both recall taking but not what about.
We have both agreed nothing beyond a few kisses occurred, but neither of can recall who arranged the meeting, and neither of us recall leaving the car. It is at total blank for both of us. And we both have pretty accurate memories as a general rule.
Neither of us recall ever meeting up again after that one tryst.
And we really have not thought much of each other, if at all, over the years.
A week back I had a the dream. And contacted him. the rest you know. BUt the really odd thing is, we both feel a strong connection.
and more odd, he described to be two scars that I only received in the last few years. He dreamt them.
does this give you some background insight?

I can sympathize with this, because my sister and I often have weird, bizarrely similar experiences- bursting into the same random song at the exact same moment after a half hour of silence, calling one another to confide that we'd had a really embarassing accident with a cup of coffee only to discover that the other sister had done the exact same thing, having our brother annoyed at us because he told one of us a story and we reacted with the exact same response, tone of voice and everything.

But we're sisters, and despite the fact that we no longer live together we're still inexorably linked. You and your friend may have the same kind of connection- despite your distance in years and time your souls recognize each other and in the realm of sleep wink at each other in passing. I don't know that it means you were connected in a different life (I don't think I believe in different lives)- you obviously connected in this one.

I wouldn't attach a deep significance to the dream- the biting to me signifies that your subconscious is still attracted to the memory of this person and wants to experience that memory through your senses- touch and taste. You mention the bite was like a tattoo- that's what this person is to you, a tattoo on your brain.
