Question Black Smoke Eagles

3 huge eagles formed out of black, billowing smoke, swirling ominously above as I prayed for God to let them pass over us. (my husband and I, and nearby family) The eagles formed after the dock we were standing on (in New Orleans, on the MS River) was barely brushed by a wayward barge. We were lifted up on the dock, holding on for our lives, and awaited a massive, impending wall of water (the barge's wake?), the whole time praying that it wouldn't hit the building next to us where our children and family were. It didn't, the eagles passed us over, (they dissolved), and despite the absolute terror I felt in the dream, I was left with a sense of calm at having survived the ordeal. (Somehow, I knew I was dreaming - but couldn't make the transition "upward" to full consciousness quickly enough to escape the events. I frequently know that I am dreaming, and try to transition myself into consciousness. Seems I dream in levels, so to speak, and the deepest "levels" are harder to move upward from. It's really a strange sensation about which I am intensely curious. Any ideas?) Thanks, Ell

Hi Ell,

In some of my posts I explained the levels of consciousness in sleep.
Dreaming is about controlling and regulating sleep. Very often the sleeper has to do some tasks without waking up. In cases likethat the dream raises the level of consciousness near to waking level where the brain can understand what the dream wants the sleeper to do. At this point the sleeper is instructed to move an arm or a leg turn over, stretch, run or wake up.

This part of the dream is to raise your level of consciousness by observing the metamorphosis of the clouds into eagles.

holding on for our lives
this part of the dream is the command; it tells you to move your hands and grab something so you can hold on. The reason for the dream could be as simple as you lying on your hand too long and feeling the pain.
The dream will only take you to the waking level of consciousness if it is absolutely necessary to wake up or you had enough sleep and ready for the next day.
Cheers Wolfjk

you seem to have a feeling of impending doom about you. this could be because you are dreaming and as you said you often pull yourself out f a dream, or it could be events in real life.

has there been bad medical news? this could be it.

Hi,
Smoke means some opression, and eagles are tyranic politicians or governors.
Praying to God means achieving a wish.
A wall of water means a good deal of money.
Good luck.
