I have been a very vivid and detailed dreamer, even as a young child. I dream every night. About 80% of the time I would say, parts of my dreams come true the next day. I thought this was a common occurrence and that everyone dreamt this way. Whether it's a specific object I dream about, a song, something on TV ... that will be either the first thing I see or hear when I wake up or something I encounter throughout the day. It happens way too frequently to be coincidence. Last night, I dreamt that my parents were divorcing. My Dad is 71, my Mom is 61. They've been together over 30 years. I was so crushed and hysterical and in the dream, my Dad finally told me he loved me. And he was having to wait until he got enough money to move out of the house. And while I was crying, I kept saying I dreamt that this happened. So it was like a dream about a dream. So I dreamt that my parents would divorce and within that dream, they actually did. (In case I've confused anyone, they're still together in real life) The previous night, I dreamt a 2-headed snake was after me and I jumped off a high cliff to avoid it attacking me. And I was scared to free-fall, but then closed my eyes and felt like I was floating. I don't remember hitting the ground, but in the next part of the dream, I was telling everyone I had a concusion from falling off the cliff. I have a lot of reoccuring dreams. Mostly placing me at my parents house, where I spent many, many years. I've finally lived away from them now for almost 2 years. I also dream of tornados frequently. I'm either in the storm, or am seeing the storm or running away from the storm. I also dream of sitting on a toilet in the middle of a crowd of people. I have this perpetual fear of being walked in on in the bathroom and just always thought it had something to do with that. I don't know who to talk to about what these all mean! These are just brief examples of things I experience NIGHTLY. I would love to learn how to tap into my dreams and have the power to change the outcome of them. Looking for interpretation, suggestions, etc. Thanks! Kelly Cleveland, OH |

Hi Kelly,
If you're dreaming about things that are likely to happen anyway then your dream and the event is more likely to coincide. Quote:

Dreaming is about what happens in the sleep. If your mind wanders in sleep your thoughts might come out in your dream. Also if you are embarrassed about something you dream about something you are ashamed of: sitting on a toilet in the middle of a crowd of people I think you'll find what dreams do more important than what they mean.
