Default Bird dream

I had a dream last night that I was scaling a cliff at a beach and the cliff dropped off so there was just ocean below. I decided to turn around and go back, but before I did that a reddish colored bird flew onto my left shoulder and just stayed there until I went back. What does this mean? I have been in a moderate depression for about a month now and am unhappy with my job and my love life.

Hi,
A bird sitting on the shouldermeans achieving a wish and receiving some power and management.
A cliff means a man if fell down means he will lose dignity.

Just a question...when you were scaling the cliff were you first climbing up or climbing down?

well yes this dream would be consistent with the background info you provide. Dreams can be like little plays portraying your own mixed emotions and how you feel thwarted or disapointed... if somethinfg frustrating hapopoens in the dream it may merely mimick real life...

------------------
One way of telling how vital dreams are is to study people who are deprived of sleep and dreams.Sleep deprivation is very dangerous if it continues for extended periods. If you are deprived of sleep for several days then you will slip into madness. The reason for this is that sleep and dreams are linked to vital brain functions.

During the day we store up new thoughts and experiences within short term memory blocks. So if we are deprived sleep these become overloaded. The mind has no more space to store new feelings so these are merely forgotten.

During sleep vital brain waves emerge. Beta waves and theta waves are only ever detected within the brain at night. These help us process through those new feelings and experiences stored in short term memory. We integrate these new feelings into long term memory blocks. So if you do not sleep then you will not be updating your thoughts. You will not be building a bigger picture.

well the dream in general seems to mean that you may have given up hope on something.

The bird ,I think, may be glimmer of hope keeping you alert and aware of better days ahead. Maybe, taking on the task that was causing you to think of giving up was a good a idea, and the bird indicated this as it came to you when you made the decision to go back, and get grounded again.
