dreams of being a foster parent

Brief history so u might be able to help me understand my dream. I am a 52 yr. old female, when my dad died 14 yrs ago I moved home with my mom, she is now 82, the house is 3 bedrooms and 2 bath, we moved into this house in 1957 and have been the only owners, very stable home, parents married for 55 yrs. I married when I was 19, to a man who was a single dad of a 5 yr. old son, my husband died in 1990, when I was 21, I was found to have cancer, after all the treatments yrs later, I was told I would not be able to have children, which I had always wanted to have, I was blessed to of be able to raise my step-son, as mine and develope and very close relationship with him. Now for my dream, I dream this dream alot and it always seems to be the same thing, I dream that 3 months after my mom passes away (i don't dream of her passing n e time soon) I sign up to be a single foster parent and I am accepted, I fix up 1 bedroom for boys and the other for girls and in my room I have a crib, incase I get a baby to foster, well I soon have 3 boys and 1 girl and everything is going great, the kids are stand offish at first because of the abuse they had gone through in their own home and then what they went through while they were in protective services, all the kids are under the age of 12. I have always had pets and in my dream I have 3 of my dogs that I have now and no cats (i have 4 dogs & 3 cats now), the disturbing part of the dream is that, one of the kids is hurting my dogs, not killing them, but hurting them as in breaking a leg, a rib, pulling their tail and ears etc., but I don't know which one is doing it, then I start watching the way my dogs act towards the kids to see if they are scared of any of them, I soon find that the middle boy, who is around 7 is the one they are scared of, so I take him into his bedroom, sit him down and told him we needed to have a very important talk and that he needs to tell me the truth and that he will not get trouble if he tells the truth, so I ask him if he is the one hurting the dogs and of course he tells me he would never hurt any of the dogs, then a couple hours later I catch him blowing something into the eyes of my littlest dog, I find that it pepper, my poor little dog is screeming and running around because his eyes are burning, now I have alot of patients with anything and if it takes a month or a year to explain and teach someone something until they understand then I do it, but when the boy blew pepper into the dogs eyes and then laughed, (this is the other part that disturbs me) talking was out of the question, he needed to feel what the dog was feeling, so I blew pepper into the boys eyes, just like he did to the dog, the reaction of the boy, was the same reaction he had gotten from the dog.
I am disturbed by the fact that I blew pepper into the boys eyes, because I would never in my entire life do anything to hurt a child, no matter what the situation is. What does this mean? Is this dream telling me not to open my home to foster kids? What is this dream that I dream all the time trying to tell me? I hope one of you out there could put some light on this for me.

Hi,
I sympathise with you for not having your own children. It leaves you with regrets.
From your description I gather that you are thinking about fostering children sometime in the future. However your mother and pet dogs take up your time and care at present. You also think of how the kidds would fit in with the dogs.
I also suspect that you read a lot or over-use your eyes and suffer from some eye strain

The above passage from your dream indicates that you do have some problem with your eyes. Perhaps you need new contact lenses or glasses.
Although the dream is about blowing pepper into the dogs, and the boys eyes, in reality the dream is telling you that your own eyes are hurting while you sleep.
The drown out dream tries to take your mind of the problems you encounter in sleep. It is diverting you from the psychological hurt of not having your own kids and possibly your eye strain, or crying in your sleep.

Wolfjk, Thank you for ur response, you hit the nail on the head, I have been having more eye problems and didn't want to go to the eye doctor, but seeing that I'm dreaming about it I guess I had better go. I'm so happy that it doesn't have anything to do with me wanting to foster kids, I was so afraid and worried that I was going to be told that my dream ment that I was going to hurt a child, so I guess that dreams do come true when the time is right. Hi,
In the dream language having 3 boys ( foster or for blood makes no difference) is a symbol that means 3 sorrows and illness will be on the way.
But a girl means some blessing on the way.
