Question Dreaming of a name?!

Hi

I had a vivid dream last night that I was visiting my nan. My nan is actually dead, but my dream wasnt one of the past.

Also the house/flat I was visiting was not her house in real life, but I have dreamt that place as being her's before.

Before I got to see my nana, I bumped into my sister, and she showed me her death certificate - I wasnt startled by this as in waking life I know she is dead.

What I did find strange was the death certificate said the name "Vivienne Westwood". That is NOT my nan's name or anything like it! But my sister insisted is was her real name, and the one we knew her by was a name she just went by - my sister seemed very adjated at the fact that I did not know this.

I have no connection or interest with the famous person Vivienne Westwood, and have not read or heard her name mentioned recently.

What does this mean, if anything ?

Many Thanks
Katie

Hi Katie,
It is an interesting dream - especially the fact that you don't remember the name: "Vivian Westwood"
I have little interest in Fashion Design but remember her appearing on TV and even heard her name mentioned on radio recently. These name dropping in dreams clearly trying to get ones brain working and to wake the one up in the morning.
Perhaps the dream indicates that the subconscious remembers a lot more than the conscious brain and dreadge a forgotten fact up from the deep!
Cheers Wolfjk

Hi,
Did you see her alive in the dream?

If one dreamt she changed her name if she chose a better moral religious name means he will receive goodness. It is depended on the both names meanings.
If chose a worse name than first one means a sin and corruption is on the way.
Hearing bad and good names mean as above.

Hi Varzandeh

I dreamt that I was visiting her, so guess I thought she was alive in my dream - but I never actually saw her in my dream. Only person I saw was my sister.

I wouldnt like to say if the name Vivienne Westwood was a better or worse name than her actual name (Emily Gillett nee Fennel), and seeing as she has actually passed over in real life, I guess it doesnt mean anything to her one way or another.

Thanks for your suggestions though

Kt

I was just speaking to my husband about this, and things started to fall into place.

Wolfjk I think you may be right about the name reference - it is possible that I have seen something on the TV recently and not really paid it much attention.

Also, a little bizzar, but the sister I dreamt of actually rang me today (after posting this message). I dont converse with this sister normally, so was quite a shock to hear from her!!!

I am interested in why I would dream of the same place as being my nan's residence - when in real life I do not recognise it. Maybe it's an irrelivant fact?!

Many Thanks again
Kt

Hi,
Dreaming of a deceased person alive is a symbol that means something impossible or forgotten for you will revive for you and will be o.k.
Good luck.

Hi Kt,
Thanks for your post.
Sometimes the subconscious creates dreams that are delliberately contrary. When a dream places a familiar person in an unfamiliar surrounding, tha aim of the dream is to make the brain work. Think what would be an effect on you if you came home one evening and there would be a different house where your own house should have been? Dreams deliver shocks like that - some are are very obvious others are almost imperceptible - it is the way dreams engage the brain and wake you up.
Cheers Wolfjk

Dreams can be premonitions. They can recreate emotions that are just about to happen.. the actual day of the dream is very important therefor.. this surprise call from your sistyer was probably not just chance.. these happen too regularly..

What does vivienne westwood mean.. well she is a fashion designer... do you and your sister have different ideas and attitudes towards fashion? Its difficult to say what she means.. But in the dreamn yourb sister INSISTS that this is so... is your sister very insistent?

One way of telling how vital dreams are is to study people who are deprived of sleep and dreams.Sleep deprivation is very dangerous if it continues for extended periods. If you are deprived of sleep for several days then you will slip into madness. The reason for this is that sleep and dreams are linked to vital brain functions.

During the day we store up new thoughts and experiences within short term memory blocks. So if we are deprived sleep these become overloaded. The mind has no more space to store new feelings so these are merely forgotten.

During sleep vital brain waves emerge. Beta waves and theta waves are only ever detected within the brain at night. These help us process through those new feelings and experiences stored in short term memory. We integrate these new feelings into long term memory blocks. So if you do not sleep then you will not be updating your thoughts. You will not be building a bigger picture.
