Cleaning a Pillar

I was at a women's club where I had worked many years ago as a custodian. I was hyrdoblasting a brick pillar that had frieze of the building. There were many layers of paint and the co-worker who was had painted over it was there. (I expected him to be displeased)After cleaning it, the details stood out sharply and I was very pleased with my work. As I stopped worked for the day, my supervisor came out to me and told me that I needed to be at work at 7:00 A.M. the next morning to help install a whirlpool tub.
Any help is welcomed.

A pillar usually holds something up, is a support and essential part of a structure, or the "pillar of a community". To redo something and be pleased with it I would take as a very positive sign.

The supervisor now assigns you to another task. A whirlpool tub is luxurious, although a whirlpool can be dangerous. So maybe you have completed an essential supportive task and now need to go on to something else.
