Why dream of boyfriends

I really need an answer to this one.. I have had three boyfriends in my time, they were all long term, my first boyf and i broke up about 6 years ago, but yet i have always dreamed of him, i still dream of him, i dont dream of him and i being together, i just dream that i bump into him and we have a bit of a catch up.

I have never dreamed of the other two boyfriends and i dont know why i dream of the first and not them. I have now met another man, who is not my boyf, but we are close, we spend a few night a week together going out for a couple of drinks, i dream about him..

Can anyone help here??

It could mean that you really want to have that chance of talking and catching up, or that it will in time out of the blue happen. You may have more feelings for this person than you want to believe...Do you feel good after u have this dream? I think you really miss him as a friend more than a boyfriend though..

When we were together we were very good friends and did get on really well, i think i was just too young for a relationship. This new guy i do like but due to awful past experiences i am too afriad to get together with him..

I just dont understand why i never dreamt about the other two boyf like this.

I do feel good after the dreams.. i try to keep the thoughts in my head as long as i can

Hang on to those good feelings..can u call and just talk to him w out fighting? Do u feel you let go of him, u may not have? But that's ok as long as it is good and not bad. But u said good so that's cool. u don't dream of the other guys cause u don't have those hiden feelings for them. u crave the friendship w this man, and the others don't probably compare to him. I have the same thing as u do, except miine has passed, but I still dream like he is here and i wish and hope and keep my dreams as fresh as I can all day so i can still feel him. So I think and it is normal when we lose someone we love or care about. you'll be fine, and I have afeeling that you both will bumb into eachother and smile, that will lead to phone calls and laughs about today and not yesterday..good luck and have fun w it if it happens. let me know if it does.....

I cant contact him as i dont know where he is. I do know tho that he is married now as he told me the last time i saw him which was 3 years ago. I dont have any feelings for him, but we were once good friends and i know if we did see each other we would get on great.

Maybe then the new guy that i have met is similar to my ex in the way we have a good friendship... Not sure if im safe in saying that it should probably stay that way

I think that the new boyfriend probably brings back feelings that were similar or situations that were similar with the first boyfriend. So somewhere in your subconscience you are reminded of him.

well dreams represent the inner thoughts... our deepest conversations with ourselves...

Your first boyfriend was special in that you look back on him with fondness... that you want perhaps to have a boyfriend who is LIKE HIM but not actually him. Someone whom you could talk to. The other boyfriends were not ideal and so they do not feature so prominently in dreams.

I always try to reduce a dream to an understandable quote that is if you like the meaning of the dream... so perhaps your dream means the following "I know that I have problems trusting. If only i could find a boyfriend like my first boyfriend. Someone whom I could talk to."

They mark the moment when the balance of the scales shifted from yes to no.
