Recurring Dream Theme

I seem to have a lot of recurring dream themes however, this is one that will not go away. For the past seven years I dream of the same person ignoring me. We did date and not for a very long time but it was intense, fast and hard to get over.
I have moved way on from this "young" relationship but he still haunts me in my dreams.
The atmosphere is always dark or cloudy feeling. It is very depressing. I'm often trying to approach him but he ignores me and runs off. Once in a while he will dance with me or hug me but will not talk to me.
The last dream I had with him in it we were on a school bus and he had a window with prints on it. I held onto it for him and dropped it. It shattered all over the place. He ran off and I felt awful, I just wanted to tell him how sorry I was for breaking the window. I'm always trying to tell him how sorry I am.

Even though the relationship ended long ago, maybe your mind sees some loose ends that you wish to tie up. The person in your dream is ignoring you because he/she isn't aware of these loose ends.
Maybe you are feeling bad about how the relationship ended or somehting that happened in the past, and want to let the other person know how you feel?

Thanks Bright Dreamer. I know that it may have something to do with the fact that he suddenly stopped talking to me out of the blue. It was quite the heart break to have someone I cared so much about just stop talking to me (and we weren't children. )
Anyhow,there were a few times over a couple years that we almost got back together. He would always tell me how was so in Love with me and than poof he was gone. I have been in my current relationship for over two years. We live together I do love him but we hardly tell each other so and when I do say it it makes me feel uneasy inside.
Sounds silly, I would never put up with that sort of behavior now. I want the dreams to go away but I could never confront this person.
