Postive dream of tiger under control

If anyone can help me with this it would be much appreciated. I have not been able to find anything specific to a tiger which acts domesticated.

In my dream ( I am a male, by the way ) I am with a beautiful tiger ( black and orange - muted colors, not bright and bold but very pleasing to the eye.
In the dream the tiger is not aggressive to me at all, but on the contrary, listens to me and does not harm me. The tiger is not overly affectionate with me like a cat, yet it seems to respect me. He/she lets me put my hand in its mouth in the dream and touch and feel the long front teeth. It lets me touch it and feel its soft coat. It seems to much have a will of its own, as it takes treats to get him/her to lay down or to go the exact place I would like it to go. Again it is not touchy/feely affectionate, but on the contrary strong and powerful. Although it did not happen, I suspect that if I were to be approached by a stranger or in a negative manner that the tiger would protect and defend me....I just got this feeling in the dream because the tiger refused to be treated like a cat ( cuddly, loving ). It was a very powerful animal and it seemed to be there to protect rather than to be a pet ( although nothing in my dream indicated that I was in danger.)

Please if anyone wants to comment please do....even if you don't know anything whatsoever about dreams. I am interested in people's gut feelings as well as the ideas of those who have knowledge of dreams. If you read this and feel compelled to respond ... then please do--we are here for a reason.
