A dream about a friend (26/9/07)
I was in a store like Asda or Tesco with my line manager. Have you seen women coo over baby clothes? Well, my line manager was doing that with MATERNITY CLOTHES! Yeah, I found that odd, too. Well, she was cooing over this outfit and one of the women who works in the office tried it on as she was pregnant. This woman, by the way, is a complete stranger to me. She just appeared in my dream as someone who works in the office in our school but in real-life, I’ve never met her. She looked fantastic in this maternity outfit and my line manager was positively appraising her. She suggested I try it on as she was sure I’d really suit it (apparently I was pregnant, too). I disagreed saying I’d look hideous.
I left them to it and decided to go and see my co-worker friend in his office (he doesn’t have an office in real-life). In the room just outside his office, I spoke with a man, who I apparently knew in the dream, to ask if my friend was in his office. He said he was and I believed him because I heard movement from the office. However, when I went in, there was no-one there. I became suspicious and I eyed up the Hat & Coat stand. I swiped my arm at the coat on this stand and I heard my friend grunt. I’d obviously hit him. He came out from behind the stand and I asked what he was doing there. He stammered and didn’t really give me an answer. I decided he’d been hiding from me. I said, “Look, if you don’t want to see me, just ask me to leave. You don’t have to hide!” He apologised and sat down on an arm-chair. I knelt beside him on his left side and I talked to him saying that I couldn’t fathom how I could be pregnant. He said something like, “Well, man meets woman…” I said, “Yeah, I know that bit but you actually have to do something to get pregnant but I haven’t done anything!”
Then I started to cry and he said, “Aww, come here,” while putting his arm round me for a hug. My head was resting on his chest while he was consoling me and I suddenly piped up, “Your shirt smells nice.” He said, “Err, yeah…” in a tone which suggested it was a weird thing for someone to say. Following that I said, “You’ve done a really good job ironing it, too.” He said, “Yes…” in that same tone. I looked up and said, “Thank you for helping me feel better. I really appreciate it.” He said, “It’s ok,” and gave me a gentle (non-sexual) kiss on the lips.
Weird or what?!
