Odd dream about husband and the other woman

Can someone help me with this strange dream. It is really bothering me.

In the dream my husband brought home an outdate woman’s suit that consisted of a jacket with a very ugly looking collar sort of reminded me of a old military uniforms. The suit is dark in color maybe like a dark bluish green, the collar on the suit stands out as being very ugly in my dream. It was the one thing I focus on in the dream and I mention how ugly the collar was several times in the dream.
In the dream my husband keeps asking me to put the suit on and I refuse saying it was ugly and I didn't want to wear it. He never really says why it is so important for me to try the suit on.
Later in the dream I agree to put it on for reason unknown but when I get the jacket on I noticed the skirt is missing. I go to ask my husband what he has done with the skirt and he said he doesn’t have it that I must have misplaced it. Then into the dream comes his former lover (he had an affair for 8 months that ended this August) and she has the skirt but now the color has changed to bright red but the jacket remains a dark color. I start removing the jacket telling my husband I am not putting this ugly thing on, and my husband and his former lover begin protesting telling me to put it on wear it and how good the suit will look on me. I start arguing that I don’t like the suit and don’t want to wear it and I try to remove the suit but they both join in and try to stop me and that is where I wake up.

Is the suit my insecurities because of the affair? Why did the skirt change to red and why did the other woman bring the skirt back into my dream?

Hello, It seems to me that you are horboring on what has happened due to the infidelity I know it's hard I've been there myself, It might mean that you feel like you are a third wheel in your marriage. I know when a spouse cheats on you , you feel like you can never recover, The best advice I can give Is you must forgive never forget and don't blame yourself. I personally feel that if you can not forgive a person, they hold a power of control over you and it effects your every day life. Let that person know thry don't have that power over you and move on. And if you can't forgive, your life will continue to unravel in life and dreams.

I agree that the suit represents the security of the marriage that your husband is trying to restore but you are resistant to it. You may even despise him for it and still have issues with the affair. But to him, he wants things the way they once were. I believe that this dream is showing you that this other woman is no longer a threat and you have more control in this situation than you think. She may even be remorseful for taking your place as his wife when she wasn't supposed to.

I do agree that it is best to forgive and release yourself from the past, but your dream is showing that right now you are not ready and that is fine. You have to want this and it won't work any other way until you do.
