Giraffes and a State with Grassland

Hi Everyone,

I am new here. But I'll like to make this my new Forum home too.



In my dream this morning I dreamt that I was in Ohio. I don't live there, nor have I've been there.

I was standing on a dirt road and the entire place was golden (not real gold just like the safari color) grassland. The grassland was very beautiful and it was taller than me, the weather was perfect. On the far right side of me is a friend, he's about 25-30 feet from me and he's standing there. (Now he's moving to Ohio in real life.) But where he was standing, the grassland was not tall. It was very short.

In the center of the grassland was a very large enormous tree with a large trunk, and the tree was thriving with health.

On the left side appeared a mother Giraffe, and she was strong and beautiful walking out of the grassland to the right side. The mother stopped on the trail and she looked at me. She turned around and walked back into the large grassland. Soon after her baby came out, pouncing around and having fun. But then the baby became serious and started acting like it's mother and reentered the tall grassland.

Both animals were wild.

Both of them stood under the large tree.

I was saying,
"They are going to die out here because of the winter and the snow in Ohio. I kept repeating the word "Ohio" a few more times after that.
Someone then told me, a voice said, "No. They will be fine. The giraffes have survived all this time."

I then turned around and saw my friend sitting in a chair staring at the giraffes.


But he seemed so unsure and he was dressed in a black shirt and black jeans.


He and I are both strong Christians, but I worry about him a lot.


What was this all about?!

wow that's a really detailed description...dreaming of girrafes is supposed to mean that you (or the person with the giraffe) think differently than the norm..and has a different perspective of life than what most people do..but i would say that it's just a dream that you dont want him to move away..

Girafe is a combination of a camel, a cow and a panther,
So she is someone as a believer and blessed but as a kind enemy.

A couple of notes on your dream:

Clothing represents self expression. The black clothes he's wearing could signal depression or loneliness; emotions that a lot of people feel when they move away from close friends.

The grass is taller than you, and in a sense dwarfing you. As a result you cannot see far ahead (you can't predict the future). It can otherwise represent your feeling of being overshadowed by the situation. The fact that the grass is not as tall where your friend is standing could represent his feelings of vulnerability and exposure (or even stress, as often happens when moving house).

The dream suggests that you see Ohio as being a different, almost exotic place, but the symbols of the giraffes, the golden grass, the clear weather and the healthy tree show a positive future.

Your concern about the giraffes surviving the winter reflect the concern you have for your friend. His reply shows that he will cope with his problems like the giraffes survive the winter - they've always made it through.

The mother giraffe represents a strong, protective figure watching over you and your friend. The fact that these giraffes are wild animals shows them as a force operating outisde of your control.

I think this dream is trying to tell you that although this move will be difficult for both you and your friend things will go alright in the end.
