Looking for some understanding from anyone who can help me out.
First off, I was really overwhelmed yesterday, and have been a little overcommitted all the way around (with all good stuff), but that doesn't seem to relate to this dream. There was a lot that had to do with my garden. My twins like to plant things in pots and had the idea to grow things and sell them in real life (several weeks ago, but that wasn't on my mind at all). So in my dream, I'd found several baby trees growing in my backyard, which I didn't want there, so I had the idea they could put them in pots. I was going to tell them, when I noticed they'd already started potting them. In real life, my neighbor is constantly working on renovating/excavating his yard, but several months ago, he started stirring my front yard up and left it in a bit of a shambles. In my dream, he was working on my front yard again (only it looked nothing like it really does) and the neightbors seemed to be pleased. Pretty much all he does in real life and in my dream is clear everything out and stir up the dirt (it all ends up looking like barren vaccumed dirt and then he piles rocks and dirt out on the street)! I was thinking of having the kids make flagstone steps and was deciding on what to plant there. When I went to look, he'd used some dinner plates for stepping stones (MY dinner plates, which I removed). But here's the weird part that sticks in my head. I went into my garage, and he was patting down a HUGE pile of ashes in my garage. It reached all the way from the front of it, to the back of it, was aboug 6 feet wide, but about 4 or 5 feet tall. I looked at it and really wanted to be polite, but told him I didn't want it in the garage -- it was only going to make a mess in there, but I was thinking in my head, nobody's going to want it out front, either, and I don't want to pay to have it hauled off, so I said I'd put it out front and have the kids put it in the compost pile, but I knew my compost pile was already full and couldn't accomodate it -- I also knew this was going to be another thing to do that I didn't have time or space for. (Oh... I guess this part of it is related to the day before... but why the ASHES in the GARAGE?) Thanks! |

well you mentioned thi s thing about your twins potting plants. Is that something that has turned out in a productive way or may they just be dumped in the garage?
The day before was there some real mess that you just didn't want? Not sure - its not an easy dream. It sort of strikes me that its a dream about life in general. Some very deeply symbolic dream about some little incident. If nothing major is happening then it can be difficult to work out your dreams. ------------------------ Many dreams simply link to very immediate urges and problems which demand attention immediately. If you are sexually aroused when you wake then interpret the dream in that sense. It is likely to link to involve sexual and fleshy emotions. It will include a real sense of excitement. Hi,
Ash has two meaning : 1-some immoral money that won't last 2- some useless deeds.

Hi Bobby,
Well I think the twins' plant "business" is actually productive (though they haven't sold anything yet and probably won't). We homeschool, so I expect that kind of thing, even though it can be inconvenient and messy. They don't store them in the garage. They're outside. But yes, there was a big mess the day before. I was frantically trying to get the 4 younger kids set up for homeschooling this year, which meant that after I typed out their schedule's for the year, I had to deal with the bookshelves that had last year's stuff in them and needed this year's stuff--but there was no room in the library for the old stuff, so I had to purge all the shelves (a very huge job). Now there's a pile of old give-away books (maybe 150 books) on the floor in there that my son is supposed to try to sell, but he left them there and I was annoyed. In fact, I was annoyed with both my two older kids for not cleaning up after themselves and I was exhausted at bed time and had a hard time unwinding to get to sleep - partly because I have way too many other things I needed to be doing. I guess that makes some sense in light of the dream... but ashes? Lil' |

Verzandeh,
Well, I have no immoral money issues, but I do sometimes feel like I'm spinning my wheels doing things I don't have time to do. Lil' |

Hi Lilolehs
Well sometimes its best to just look for core meanings. The feeling of annoyance is identical to the one in real life. The ashes is nopt really relevant. Perhaps its not a symbol at all. The important thing is that the dream did coincide with the exact real life emotions. It is merely showuing that you are annoyed about SOMETHING - quite what that something is is perhaps irelevant. Dreams are just funny like that. I would say you have good wenough a fit. Especially because it was annoying you just before bedtime. Thats a key period especially. ----------------------------- The father of modern dream interpretation is not Freud or Jung but rather Jon Winson. But he never made a single dream interpretation. Instead he conducted research into the mind and established that certain brainwaves (theta waves) only appear during the night time. During the day we store up all new experiences and feelings in short term memory. Then at night we start to work through what happened the previous day and we integrate these into long term memory blocks. Then finally we clear short term memory blocks ready to start the process again the next day. Its likely that any dreams we have are linked to these brain functions. The weird images and feelings once deciphered capture our own feelings and new insights into the world around us. So the dreams then will often link to specific events from the day before and to new ways in which our world has been reshaped. It may simply link to our paranoias and fantasies. If we are focused on something about to happen in the near future then the dreams may link to that. Each dream captures one specific feeling or thought process. It was more than annoyance. I was quite furious with my second son for not doing his part around the place (and feeling bad for losing my temper with him), so the feeling with the pile in the garage was, "I don't want to be rude to this guy, but now I have this huge pile to deal with and I don't have the time, resources or space for it." That's how I was feeling in general yesterday just about everything I have to do for other people (my clients and kids messes) but I need to "be nice" and find a way to deal with it constructively (compost and potting instead of dumping)
It doesn't solve my dilemma, but it does illustrate it (and how I was feeling) pretty well... Today's a new day. Thanks! |
