Default Strange dream, bothers me.

I've recently had a dream that's cause me a lot of emotional trouble. The dream itself was rather long and drawn out (typically I dream in "stories" not fragments,) but the part that bothered me the most was my husband (we're newly weds, not a month married), a few friends, and I are walking down an alley. We're laughing about something, and messing around when suddenly my husband points the gun at me and pulls the trigger, shooting me in the arm. He rushes over, and goes on about how sorry he is, he didn't mean too (in a very heartfelt manner mind you,) but that we can afford to go to the hospital.

The dream goes on for a bit, mostly me sitting in a car with a numb bleeding arm, but, the segment above struck me rather deeply. Why did he shoot me?

He's a very loving man, and he's never physically, or emotionally hurt me. We have little fights, but they're always resolved quickly. That night, we'd not fought or anything. I remember my dreams nightly, and never before have I had one of this nature...

Hi,
WHere and what are you looking for...
Shooting means sending a message and your arm means your brother , sister or a friend of you.
Dreams will happen after a month or two.

Well dreams may use symbols in many ways. Does your husband ever get carried away talking to guys. Saying things that are a little sexist? These may target you in the same wqay that happened in the dream,. He did not mean to do it but that he casuses trouble accidently.

Did anyone elses husband feature in your thoughts in a similar way. That they get carried away talking to guys and talk in an uncaring way. Maybe this dream is showing you a comparison. Does anyone else misunderstand your husband and think he is uncaring and that you do not realise it?

------------------------
A dream will often feature some clue as to the subject of the dream. Look for them. The people in the dream may link to some place or situation. The dream could be about some thought forming in your mind involving that. So a dream about work may simply link to some thought about work. Write down some quotes that capture your feelings at work. For instance - "I do not think John likes the me anymore since I have become more important in the company than him even though he has been here longer". Or "I think my ideas at work have been rejected because of personal reasons". Its such concepts that are the source of our dreams.

Well, the gunshot can symbolize the potential for an emotional outburst by your husband. Certainly that would not be unusual for newlyweds... Since he was obviously interested in treating you of the wound, you perceive that you are both in a very caring relationship despite the act (or potential one), and that he would work on whatever emotional traumas may arise.

Just a couple thoughts...

Default Shot in the arm

Hi Mutt,
Very often when pain is indicated in a dream, there is real physical pain about.
In this dream you probably lay on your arm too long (or your husband did) and it became painful. It sometimes happens in sleep.

The reason your husband shot you is because you had to move or wake up very quickly and the shock of your husband doing something like that gives you a big surprise and engages your brain very quickly. This subconscious has no moral scrooples!
Cheers Wolfjk
