my daughter dreamt of sphinx with its nose intact..what it could mean
The most mysterious of all Egyptian monuments. It symbolises the enigmatic side of ourselves. Wisdom, power, dignity, and majesty. [The statue is part-lion, part-king.] The Sphinx originally had a beard and head-dress. And was painted red, as it represented Hor-Dashr: Horus the Red [ie Horus-as-Mars]. In Greek myth Oedipus solved the riddle of the Sphinx [here female and winged]: - "What walks on four legs in the morning, two at noon, and three in the evening?" Answer: humans: crawling as a baby; walking upright as an adult; walking with the aid of a stick in old age. But it also symbolises a fear of the unknown. I hope this helps. Cheers. Jon.
