Starling is a symbol for a deceiver man who travels much.If dreamt took a starling or someone gave him means will sit with a traveler. If dreamt ate starling meat means will receive a benefit. Some interpreters say starling means someone who says many lies.If dreamt many starlings gathered in place means he will be among pagan people.

Varzandeh - Thank you for posting this symbol. I think this is a good and correct interpretation. You describe a man close to me so well that my jaw dropped as I read what you wrote. This is also the only place I have found a meaning for a starling.
I dreamed about one starling hatching out it's young. Next to the nest was a litter of black kittens. They started running around together. I wondered what would come of this. Thanks again. |

Starling in the context shown represents innocence at it's very core....
In general it may represent a person AND OR a position in life. Someone who someday will seek independence but for now is completely dependent upon it parents (authority figures) for care and direction. The black kittens in this context, likely represent the subconscious mind who at this point is likely to someday consume the starling. Summary...early ideas (or ones made without knowledge) stand a high probability of being curbed in the future by the subconscious mind (our mentor and friend). sailrmc |

Quote:
I can't remember the author's name, but there's a book someone wrote about a starling that adopted their family that was quite charming. It's called _Arnie, the Darling Starling_... it sounds as if your dream starling and these kittens adopted each other! I had a starling in my yard one summer who I actually named Comet, because he had his two longest tail feathers pure white! It must have been a birth defect of some kind, something genetic. It was rather fascinating, this white tail, on this irridescent black bird. It made him highly visible. That was a long time ago, maybe twenty years, when I first moved into my house. Unlike a lot of my birds, that one never came back after that one summer. I think he was about getting rid of a lot of the church indoctrination that was in error, like a comet burning across the sky. But something like that can be interpreted much like a dream symbol, so the odd events and sightings always fascinate me. I'd consider the word as well as the bird... a starling might be a little star, like a Hollywood starlet, young, new, not a full fledged star.
